Merged: Tim Couch Worth a Look - Why Not?

I have no idea why Saba would possibly want him.. If there is one QB who lacks mental toughness and displays the Brook Trout Look, it is certainly Tim Couch.

Fiedler was in a better situation. If he was a victim of circumstance, wasn't that the same thing Feeley supporters said about him last year? Couch didn't look as bad as Feeley under the same circumstance.

I think he'd rather choose the fins where he has a chance to compete for top spot plus a good HC who could help him become a better qb.
 
i think its only worth bringing in a qb if its volek and we get rid of feely, i dont think couch is worth it
 
break it all down.

bringing him in for a lok does NOT mean signing him. simply means taking a look. gives Saban a chacne to look in his eyes. to see if he has brook-trout look or not. to see if his arm is back to normal or not.

then and only then, if all pans out well in Saban's mind, sign him to league minimum. This would require a roster spot, so somene else whould have to go. translated: bye-bye-AJ, move Sage to #2, Couch #3, Berlin to the practice squad. Money saved by cutting AJ, money that can be used on a QB next year if necessary.

The whole thing is a crapshoot, and just to bring in Couch for a look hurts no one and is a wise move on managements part to see who is out there still that can possibly help this team in the FUTURE.

Volek is not going anywhere...he likes Tenn and wants to be there and he's being paid well...Besides, McNair isn't going to last much longer...

Couch might be worth bringing in..if we do, it will be obvious to you Berlin and Sage supporters that they are not worth keeping, but he would be an upgrade to both of those guys. When healthy, he got a raw deal in Cle...talk about no direction...those teams had no direction, lack of talent and a FO and HC that were not on the same page...That and injury attributed mainly to his demise there. It's worth a shot...we could still go after a young stud to groom and not have to depend on him for a year or two...Couch wouldn't be very effective this year and would get a shot next year with the offseason and camps...depending on what he's asking for, we would lose very little...maybe when Gus tanks it later this year (and he will), if AJ can't do it, then perhaps Couch could...I hate to be in a situation where we may have to depend on Sage or Berlin...that would be awful...
 
the guy has more career INTs than TDs. GREAT! he will fit right in! bring him on down!

1.Vince Young-Texas QB who looks better than Vick did coming out
2.Gus Frerotte-To teach our new young stud

Yea but he was being offered a second shot with Green Bay but actually held off from signing with them because he wanted more money. I've heard commentators say that he's alittle on the knucklehead side, ala Heath Shuler. The fact that he wanted more money, was losing training camp time and that few teams had shown interest in him, showed that he was out of touch with reality, IMO. Then he goes and gets cut anyway because he couldn't beat out a no-name second or third-stringer. I'm not worried about his talent, just his brain. After all, the biggest knock on him in Cleveland was his poor in-game decision making.

Do you really think that, or are you just trying to encourage a "bring Couch to Miami" bandwagon so you can go back to a Bill's board and say "you people aren't going to believe what those idiots are saying now!!":lol: .
I'm skeptical because his career stats don't reflect much, if any of an upgrade. But I have to confess I don't follow the Browns enough to know.
 
All this talk about bringing in Couch is ridiculous.

Am I the only one who saw him play at Cleveland?

It would be a FAR better move to bring in McMahan. The current 3rd string Eagles QB... :evil:

draft one? tell me who will be there at around 15th on up cause there isnt going to be a great qb class next year either not unless you think we will pick 1st or 2nd next year :shakeno:
