It's not that he isn't worth a 1rd pick is just that some NFL execs like their qbs to be over a certain height. Some of them saw him at the Heisman Trophy presentation and were surprised by how short he appeared to them.

If size wasn't an issue, Garrett Wolfe would be a 1st round pick.
 
I'd take him..although I'd prefer Russell, Brohm, or Quinn first...but I wouldn't complain if we got Smith. I think he will end up being a solid NFL qb. His numbers do the talking for him...not his height
 
I would say height doesnt matter.....but for a QB it does matter

Troy Smith as a pro

alot of scouts are saying he's to small but that boy can plain out play

i think he'll be fine

what yall think
 
Troy Smith will do fine in the NFL, I don't think he will be an elite QB, but he will be a very exciting player. I think he will be what people wanted Vick to be when he came out of college. An exciting QB with accuracy. Plus he has way better leadership qualities than most of the QB coming out this year.
 
i just got a gut feeling that he'll be a phin when i saw him on tv today........ i'm usually right about these things it doesn't happen often. I did know Reggie Bush would never be a Texan. My first call was when i had Sapp going to Tampa way back.
I have never seen him play before........ but i will tonite. I guess i'd hafta figure he's sorta in a McNabb mold right ?

No thanks.. maybe take him in the 3rd/4th to be a Brad Smith/Michael Robinson/Randel El type.. not to be the QBOTF..
