Merged: Vince Young

will this hurt our chances of drafting cutler if he doesnt come out? we aren't the only team looking for a QB you know.

It would just mean we'd have to trade up or wait for next year to draft a QB.
 
if vince stays in school we lose cutler
 
of course Vince is going to stay in school. HE GOES TO TEXAS!!! Nobody leaves Texas early!!! (DJ and Benson both should have and didn't. Wright should've too, and his stock has really fallen)

anyway, it's best he stays. He needs to learn to be a QB first and a runner 2nd
 
today i heard from a VERY good NFL scout that he and many other scouts wouldn't touch young this year till the 3rd round

No saying you or youre scout source are wrong, Im not big on Young, but still he has the Rose Bowl and combines, workouts, etc still to go. Alex Smith was a project Qb for late 1st day or 2nd day until others pulled out of the draft and he had workouts.

nah they said they'd take him 3rd round this year and top 5 next year. it's not just a game or two that should raise his stock
 
Please no draft Vince Young posts

Vince Young is a freak of nature at the college level. But his game will not translate to the NFL level. You can not run option out of the shotgun position and throw out of the shot gun position and run right out of the shotgun position for all 60 minutes of football at the NFL level. He was entertaining to watch and I was rooting for him, but after watching him play, I am now conviced that his game is meant for college or the CFL. They tried the run and shoot in the NFL and the linebackers and corners werer too fast and physical in the 80's let alone in this new century.
 
Is Vince Young the highest rated QB now?

After watching that game I am in speechless. I never thought Young was that good before but he was flawless. The guy only made one mistake the whole game (1 fumble) and he tore apart the USC defense gathering 450 yards of total offense to himself. He has his best performances when it matters. I can't help but think he enters the draft because his stock couldn't be higher. What are everyones thoughts on if he is the best QB in the draft now? Could he even battle Reggie for the best player in the draft?

Whatever... he dominated USC... he is a winner and i would take roll the dice on him.

You can say that about any college player...but ill take my chance on Young any day...

Because the staff at FinHeaven is always looking for better ways to organize, and streamline the site, we've decided to re-structure a portion of it.
You'll notice that what was once the College| Draft Forum has now been split.
We've renamed the original forum to simply "College Football" and created a new forum called "Draft Forum". We are now in the process of moving threads around so that they are in the appropriate forums.
We've also created a new sub-forum within the General NFL forum, called "Free Agents".
We ask that you keep these forums in mind when posting, as we'd like to continue keeping the main Dolphins forum uncluttered, and pertaining to the current Dolphins team.

When posting, please keep these guidelines in mind:

Miami Dolphins - Please keeps threads related to current Dolphins players/staff etc here

College Football - Please keep threads related to current college teams/players/games here

Draft Forum - Please keep mock drafts/draft wish lists/potential draft picks, etc in here.

Free Agents - Please keep discussions about potential free agents here.

We realize that this may mean an adjustment for everyone, but we feel that in the long run it will make things easier for all of us. Not only will it make it "cleaner" and uncluttered in the main forum, but it will also make it easier to find the FA discussions, mock drafts etc...

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Staff either by PM or by posting in the Questions and Comments forum.

I wouldn't mind drafting him as a wideout/emergency QB type. That guy can flat out play and make people miss.

What a great game. Finally, something that lived up to the hype. It is too badd thw rong team won but a great game nonetheless.
