When and HOW did you become a FinFan?

This has probably been asked several times. But just out of curiousity: How, when and why did everyone become Dolphin fans?
Me? I can vaguely remember when I was 5 years old, my brother was a Cowboys fan(yikes) and they were playing Miami. Just to annoy my brother, I kept saying go Dolphins, etc. Miami won the game. After that, I'd beg my dad to buy me Miami Dolphins clothes, pennants, garbage cans, football cards, etc. So I have been a Dolphins fan pretty much all of my life.

When I was 5 years old the very first football game I actually sat down and watched in its entirety was Dan Marino and the Dolphins.

The rest is history.

It's funny because when Marino first came in to replace Woodly, I was pissed because the previous year, Miami had went to the Super Bowl with the ole WoodStock combo. But, it didn't take Marino very long to change my mind. I think about 2 or 3 passes and I was hooked.

I live in Miami!!

We were vacationing in miami and got to see a bunch of fans and such while we were down there, got hooked up with the gear and etc, they had a pretty good quarterback that year too, guy named bob g. - it was too bad they lost the superbowl that year. yes i am semi ancient.

The day i was born i was hooked i guess it was in my blood. I am from Toledo yet my dad was a fan even though he never really watches the games. But some how me and my brother got really into football. Now my mom knows alot more about the game then my pops.

I actually picked up the Phins in 7th grade after living life as a Giants fan in New Jersey my whole life. I realized that I loved vacationing in Florida and one day wanted to move there, so I went with all Florida Teams: Dolphins, Magic & Heat, and my beloved Marlins. Ace Ventura was a great influence too.

I'm from California, and I always remember hearing the names Dan Marino and Joe Montana... And for some reason Danny boy stuck with me...

Weird considering I lived in California my whole life.

Miami vs San Diego 1981

I've lived in South Florida my entire life but one weekend I was selling hotdogs and Cokes in the Orange Bowl. It just happend to be the day of the best football game in the history of the NFL in my opinion. The game was so exciting that they could not find me after half time. I found an empty seat and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I've been a die hard fan ever since.

My dad is a fan, so it was naturally passed down to me. He doesn't pay as much attention to football as he used to.

My dad was a Miami Dolphins fan, Atlanta Braves fan, and Atlanta Hawks fan when I was little. Those are the teams that I like today, even though my dad has gotten more interested in the Memphis Grizzlies lately.

1971, 12 years old growing up in NW Florida. It's been a long time to wait for another SB title since the Fins won their last. Grew up on Zonk, Manny Fernadez wrestling gators, Mercury, Warfield, Twilley and Earl Morral and his rocking chair. Those were the good old days when men played the game for love of the game. Over 30 years without another SB title.
