And this is why you don't break the bank on offensive linemen you could get in the second round. Time to trade Jake Long, Herschel Walker style.
 
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a repeat of the Adewale Ogunleye affair.

These guys have short careers and should do everything they can to get paid what they're deserved. It's not like the team wouldn't cut him in one second if it was best for them.

The players in general have to be honest, if they hold out, fine by me but if they agree to play they can´t make the team hostage and make up excuses and injuries not to play...

Just as a rule of thumb, when you find someone trying to engage you in a debate and all you can do is yell out how stupid everyone else is, it's time to take a deep breath and a hard look at yourself.

Sorry man, but you completely made up things that I didnt say and I'm not responding to juvenille posts like that. Sorry you feel the need to go around to every thread and insult people, but I guess you can just change your name again next week.

Whats your prob? I never "yelled out how stupid everyone is". If you want to take everythig out of context, go ahead. Your problem not mine. Go have a look buddy, none of my post have been edited. You really feel the need to psychoanalyze people on an internet forum and tell them they "need to take a hard look at yourself" because I dont agree Cam Wake is worth Julius Peppers money? This forum is at an all time low

wakes not getting j peppers money so don't even bother worrying about that...nor mario williams money...he will likely get more money than many here expect should he ever touch free agency after this season but it won't sniff those numbers... 5 years $55-60 million....i can see that...

i bet you he wouldn't sign for 5 years $45 mil right now...but that would be my initial offer
 
I think 5 years 55M is fair especially since he still has one year left on his contract making 650K. He should sign that deal if offered to him. After all, we brought him in from the CFL and helped him become a star. Pay him a 15M signing bonus upfront and keep his 650K base salary for this year. That will only increase the cap by 3M for this year. SHould be able to restructure someone to make it happen.

The problem holding up negotiations is probably how much Guaranteed money he gets. I think about 25M guaranteed is fair. If this is offered and he wants more then that could be a major problem. Hes not going to get Mario Dollars and he is not yet an UFA and he is 30 years old.

It's not going to be easy to get Wake his money.

Many factors that have kept both sides from agreeing on a deal.

They've been trying to get him a new deal for awhile, that's how tough it will be.
