If they can get a high pick they need to trade him. We are rebuilding and his 8-10 sacks don't mean much to this team. Trade him to a team with a late 1 or early 2.
See being specific allows about what you disagree with allows us to discuss it. Linking an article to NFL.com as a response does not, especially an article that is factually incorrect (Cam Wake didn't have 16 sacks in 2010). And just so you know, Jeff Ireland (or any other GM) doesnt pull up PFF to see how much he should pay a player. Mario Williams and Julius Peppers have been pressuring QB's a lot longer than 2 years. Cam Wake aint getting 10 million a year after playing only 2 years. I'll bet on it.

No thats just the kind of idiotic posts I was talking about ealier...
Even though it's pretty clear Wake can't afford to hold out, he doesn't deserve to be part of a leverage game.. He's proven he deserves a new contract and the FO should just get it done, you don't screw around with a guy who's caused no trouble and given you great production for the past few years.
And for the people saying trade him because of his age, you're actually creating 2 massive holes that was previously just one minor.. You can get by with an average pass rusher opposite from a freak like wake, sure it's definitley a need in this draft but you can get by spending possibly a 3rd round pick on someone to play opposite from him... but if you trade him? Then your talking about relying on 2 rookies, (one pretty much guaranteed being a 1st rounder) immediately replacing Wake's production. And then you've still got to address the other needs at qb and wide receiver.

He is nothing but a one trick pony! Let him holdout or cut him.
