I don't care who replaces him, hell give it to Carl Peterson for one year till we have a true replacement. Carl Peterson is still a respected executive in the NFL and people are willing to work with him. But no more Ireland.

I am telling you it won't happen this season. Even though I detest the job the man is doing it would be dumb to get rid of the idiot right before the draft. It should have been done with Sparano. Clean house then now it is too late. In addition I think that Ross will hold out and if the team tanks again he will then fire Ireland at the end of the season so he can tell the fans "look see I am doing things to fix the team, to bring the team back to it's once regal state, now just keep supporting the team and give the next gm a little time to make things right". The problem is we Fin fans have given them 20 years or more to do that to no avail.

Ireland has swung and missed on some free agent signings, and traded a guy who'll likely be suspended. In a perfect world, we offer peyton 20+ million dollars and we win the Superbowl, but that's not happening.

Ireland doesn't have a good track record, but flat out firing him a month before the draft would REALLY make us the laughing stock of the entire NFL. Seriously, can you see the headline?

Stephen Ross must be starting to feel the heat. Do you think he'll stick with Ross? Would it be disastrous to fire him before the draft? Does Ross have another football minded person he could replace Ross with that would take the job? Would fans be content if Ross stays owner and Ireland is ditched?

Just spontaneously fire the GM he chose at the whim of an angry mob with no backup plan? That sounds ridiculous. Ireland is out of his depth. He needs to go at some point soon, but more importantly Ross needs to reassess the way he handles this team and find someone who knows what the **** they're doing.

There is no front staff salary cap. The front staff is THE place ross could throw his money around like candy and actually help make this team better.

I would have him fire ireland in a heartbeat and then go spend whatever it took to get Kevin Colbert, Ted Thompson, or Bill Polian and have them build their staff and pay that staff as much as it took to mnake a winner with massive bonuses for winning crap. Im talking the entire staff from the gm to the scouts...
