At least we know the contract will be friendly the first couple of years. there are vets we can clear next year so do what it takes to sign him.

Geez shouldn't they wait until say 8pm. Having a deal in place and signed by 4pm might come across as suspicious per league no tampering rules NO?
 
The amount is almost immaterial. If they structure the deal correctly it will all be on the back end with time to restructure or move him. So sign him for $15mm if his cap number is low enough for the next few years.
 
This is all speculation, folks, please don't panic if nothing gets announced immediately at 4pm.

The rules are that GM's could contact free agents for 72 hours before the 4 PM official time today....so if we say we signed Wallace at 4 PM, we have not tampered. Why wait? We have other people we need to sign as well.
