Miami Cap Problem

They can still keep competitive players on the team that are already under contract, that would help the cap as well. The guys they should let go of are the overpaid types ( Freeman, Mare, D. Bowens, Seau ) too much money for not enough return. Either don't resign them, or buy out their contracts. Trades can actually be financially painful in the NFL.

Why are trades any more painful than cuts? Wouldn't trades be less painful...the new team assumes contract and any future bonuses and no buy outs, old team salary cap is hit by accelerated dead money which would be there anyway if the player is cut.
Like SD's possible trade of Rivers, the new team pays this years bonus and any future bonuses. SD's salary cap isn't charged those, but is charged the millions in dead bonus money already paid to Rivers last year. Which their salary cap would be charged even if Rivers were to be cut.
