Miami Dolphins - 2014 Free Agent Rumors

Long-time #Titans RT David Stewart: “I had a good run, enjoyed it, and it’s time to move on.” http://tnne.ws/1eENefg

Cross off another RT candidate.

I am leaning toward multiple OG's in FA and drafting the RT….I am a big Morgan Moses fan. He would know the offense obviously. Smart kid. Athletic big man.

The New York Giants entered free agency with an upgrade at cornerback as the highest priority.

After missing out on Alterraun Verner and others, the Giants agreed on a one-year, $3.5 million contract with former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday, per a person who had spoken with the player. Signing Thurmond will not preclude the Giants from chasing Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who is visiting the team Sunday. The Giants still want DRC "badly," according to Rapoport. Thurmond was one of the NFL's premier nickelback's last season, netting 33 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception. Entering free agency, he was ranked No. 7 on Around The League's list of the top 25 available defensive backs. His market was perhaps depressed by last season's four-game suspension and checkered injury history, which includes a nasty broken leg and college knee injuries.

Not sure if this was posted anywhere else in here. But, what about Jimmy Graham and his status in NO? I believe he will win his grievance and will be qualified as a WR in the CBA based on him having played well over half of his snaps as a WR last year. The difference in franchising him as a WR versus a TE is like 4 mil per year right? The Saints don't have the cap room for that. And if he wins, how much time do they have to get under the cap and try to keep the franchise tag on him? If they can't afford to tag him as a WR, we need to have cap space so we can make a solid run at the guy. That would be a huge get for Hickey if he could pull that off.

The Buccaneers are reportedly shopping guard Jeremy Zuttah. They will keep him if they find no takers, but he is available.

I would call their bluff. They have HUGE cap savings if they jettison him.

Interesting thought. When is a ruling expected?

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 20s

On his first free-agent visit this off-season, former Bears returner Devin Hester is in Atlanta today visiting the Falcons, per source.

Andrew Abramson ‏@AbramsonPBP 3m

Hester is in Atlanta, not Miami, for his first FA visit, per ESPN. Doesn't mean he won't visit Dolphins, but they're not first.

we can have all the cap room in the world but if graham doesnt want to play here, hickey and ross can throw all the money they want and it wont matter!!

everyone seems to think if we dont get a player everyone wants, its the gm's fault. not every player wants to play in miami [or even other teams]. and since the dolphins are not a blip on the nfl radar any longer, there not clamoring to sign here. most of the ones who do at this point live here, want to pay at home where they grew up or are all about a PAY DAY and the icing on the cake is florida not having income tax so they have MORE MONEY in their pocket.

at this time, seeing how we are not a winning team and havnt been in many years, the players who are in their prime and want a ring are NOT COMING HERE no matter what hickey throws at them, they go to teams like the broncos, patriots, seattle, san fran, etc.... . and you cant blame them!!

as hard as it is for some, dont blame the f/a losses on hickey, there is always more to the story and ross has always given his gm the open check book for players they feel they need.

Very true. Something we tend to forget at times.

Thumbs down not to you but how we let all the good W'S go other places

MATT: who says we are "letting" these wr's go? maybe they just dont want to be here. and lets face it, if your a wr and you have a choice to play with hof'er TOM BRADY or nobody yet RYAN TANNEHILL, who are you going to?

and the biggest reason is, WE DONT NEED WR'S!! we have a great wr's core, we just need our qb to learn to hit the big play. wr is the LAST of our worries.

The only way I see us spending big for a WR is if somehow Mike Evans falls to us at 19 (extremely unlikely). We need a big guy to compliment Wallace/Hartline.
