Miami Dolphins 5th round pick (#155) - Arthur Lynch TE

I'm a big Lynch fan. Great hands and can find the seam well. Reminds me of J. Witten.

This pick stinks. It's not that we couldn't use a TE, it's just that there is nothing about this guy that the mediocre guys behind Clay don't already have.

A lot of people, keep saying why draft a tight end when we have Clay.
Clay is more of a Hback, receiving tight end.
Not known for being a blocker.
Lynch can do both.
You need both types on the roster

I don't think you can overstate how valuable Fasano was in hindsight. Even with our OL sucking badly with Fasano and Javorskie we still might have made the POs. If this guy can block and keep the Ds honest because of his height and maybe snare a couple of RZ jump balls with our other weapons healthy, I'd be delighted..with anything else being icing on the cake!

Was always a big fasano fan, started a few threads defending him... really good player, protected the QB and scored td's (in fact lead the entire team in td's) what more can you ask?

So much for the "Philbin hates leaders" theory.

I think he hated Sparanos leaders lol

Good pick here as well.

I like the Landry and Tripp picks the most so far, but Lynch is a good player.

While I dont think Lynch could turn out to be a star TE, I think he is definitely NFL quality and will help our team. I just dont see him being a bust.

I'd like to believe that at some point, people are going to realize Clay is not a TE... And Im not saying he isn't good, TE is just not his position... Whaaaaa whaaaaa whaaaa we already have Clay...

Not a fan of this pick. I'm very aware that it's a need, but it's too early to go for a mediocrity to battle Sims for that blocking TE role. There were players with much higher potential still out there.

I like the pick. Clay is a great receiver, but Egnew and Simms provided nothing in 2 TE formations. We also could not run the ball with all of our TE's.
I thought getting rid of Fasano was a mistake. Drafting a guy like Lynch will help move the chains and add points to the score board.
Lynch is not a household name or a guy that the pundits are touting, but he is obviously a very good player and a solid guy in the locker room.
I can see Clay as FB, Egnew, and Lynch as our TE's.
Simms is the odd guy out because he is not good at anything. He was a wasted pick.

Wish him well, but I don't love the pick. I'm not sure he's better than any of the tight ends already on the roster.

its mind-boggling.....really like what are some fans expecting from selections past round 4?????

all these guys are background players.....

If you draft guys who it's impossible to even project as more than background players, then yes, you are correct. But to act like you can't find a player with upside in the later rounds is ridiculous, you just have players who are maybe inconsistent, fast but small, have quality of competition concerns, etc.

It was pretty evident when Charles Clay was picked that he had a real chance of making an impact on the field in some packages because of his size and catching skill combination. Yeremiah Bell had a freakish athleticism. Sure, for every Charles Clay there are ten Tony Bua's who never reach their upside, but I would still rather draft a guy who has a chance of being good rather than a guy who doesn't have the measurable skills that could ever make him good on the NFL field.

He didn't draft well in Tampa either

TRUEPOIZON: my god, will you freakin' stop!!!

hickey didnt draft ONE PLAYER in the 18 years he was with tampa. HE WAS NOT THE GM AND DIDNT MAKE THE DECISION ON DRAFT DAY WHO TO SELECT!!!!!

and why is it when folks who were there, like warren sapp say that hickey was instrumental in bringing in players like sapp, lynch, brooks, alsop, dunn,etc...., key players who made that team a winner and people keep saying how horrible he is. why is that? you dont last 18 years with an organization, through multiple regimes and coaches and gm's as a talent evaluator with being respected as one who is good at it!!!

hickey was not the gm in tampa, EVER and i have no idea why people keep talking about HIS drafts. DO SOME RESEARCH for gods sake and learn about what a gm does and doesnt do. learn what a personel director does and doesnt do. one thing they dont do? make the selections on draft day.

the new gm wanted his own guys as most gm's do when they come in. if not, hickey would still be there more than likely. he want FIRED.
