Miami Dolphins will take note if QB Jaxson Dart's stock rises at Senior Bowl

I have a better idea.

Why not trade a pick for Joe Milton?

I think 2nd round is too rich for Dart. But he's definitely interesting. Maybe a little bit Rich Gannon? I love his toughness.

I'd look a little later for a quarterback on tjos year's class. Howard or Leonard maybe.

Milroe is the wildcard. I think you bet on that athletic ability.
I see more Brett Farve in him, just about as wild too. I like the kid from the videos I've seen. I see a possible replacement for Tua, I suspect he will go 2nd round or perhaps even sneak into the 1st like NIX or PENIX, neither I thought were 1st rounders.

The number one position that hurt us the most in 2024 was backup QB. Let’s put it this way, if you had a Jaxson Dart type in 2024, this team makes the playoffs.

So, yes, someone like that could be a priority.

I’d roll with three QB next year. Get a quality guy in the draft and have a veteran backup in the room. If you had Tua, Dart, and Huntley on the 53 all year, that would be a plus. Huntley is limited but he didn’t have an offseason to learn the system and build rapport with the receivers.

I think our chances of drafting a QB this year are slim to none. Head coach and GM jobs are on the line. We will invest in a quality #2 QB via free agency or trade. A quality experienced QB could win us a few games if need be, but a mid round rookie? to save our season and save everyone jobs? No way they rely on that. A developmental QB is low on their list right now given what is at stake. I'm not even looking at this years QB class because of this. Next year is when we will use a high pick on a QB after we hire new head coach and new GM and they draft their own guy.

Wow! I was going to mention shades of Favre. I do see that. I also think he could fit Miami's offense.

Dart leaves big plays on the field sometimes. I don't know if he trusts his reads, his arm strength etc.

He's not a day 1 starter, but with his tools he has plenty of room to grow into an excellent NFL QB.

That's ok. We don't need a day 1 starter, we need a back up that can be groomed into one.

Honestly, I'd be happy using a 2nd round pick on him and letting him sit on the bench all year. I'm just not sure he makes it to us.

If he looks good, he won't be there for the Dolphins.. That's the problem with being back in Tannehill era hell.

Good enough to not draft high but bad enough to not go anywhere.

Don't really care for dart
I think he's careless, inconsistent, and played in a qb friendly offense.
I'm sure he's going to look great throwing he ball in a t-shirt and shorts
He reminds me a lot of Will Levis
Kiper has a hard on for Dart like he did for Levis too, that should say a lot

Yeah Levis the big tough guy with a rocket arm...who is just not very good. Remember the draft, he was expecting to be picked mid first and sat and sat. Not saying Dart will end up the same but not saying he won't either. Too risky at number 2 for me.

What a strange article....

The Dolphins have spent only two seventh-round picks at quarterback in the last 12 NFL Drafts.

Is Tua aware of that?

What are Jaxson Dart's weaknesses?

Scouts say Dart can be affected by pressure and that he often threw to wide-open receivers.

Yeah, I hate it when my QB throws to wide open receivers.

Journalism is dead.

This kid is Zach Wilson Jr, 4th/5th round talent that will get hyped up and overdrafted.

He has awful footwork, some of the worst in college football and he can’t read a defense.

People love to fall in love with a few good traits and completely ignore years of bad tape.
