Quite frankly, I don't understand why the Dolphins just don't pay him what he "deserves" given his spot in the draft. Basically, there's nothing they can do about it - that's just the way it goes when you get a pick like this. The Dolphins are just not used to it, that's all.
I don't blame France at all for holding the line. Yes, it is overpaying on the Dolphins part, but that's the unwritten rules of drafting #2. What happens now if Braylon Edwards signs for - say $21? Then, France and Brown hold all the leverage!
Whether it's right or wrong, the Dolphins are being cheap here. They should just pay up and hope for the best. They really have no other choice!
