Miami to interview George Paton of the Vikings for GM job

To answer your question about dismissing the possibility my response is no. But I am not running down the street with my hair on fire and until there is something concrete to indicate that possibility is a probability, I won't speculate on it.

I'm not running down the street either, but I'm also not going to get upset that others are going to wonder about it. I don't think it illogical, in light of how Ross handled the attempt to bring Harbaugh on board a few years ago, to worry that he's screwing this up as well.

Give it a couple of more years and god forbid, coaching or GM hires in here and you may appreciate a little more from my view.

Hey call it what you want we have had worse and there are teams out there who currently have worse and the majority of the candidates we are interviewing are from those teams and yet aren't good enough to make GM with where they currently reside.

Someone has to leave before they can be considered -> this is Gaine's predicament -> Not a lot of GM positions to start with

George Patton? So it's come to this...the Dolphins are bringing in a dead general to lead this dead team? Is there no living being who will take over GM duties of this team? On the bright side, he would have known how to handle that Martin kid who didn't want to play, I tell ya.

Hopefully he gives some pregame speeches!

Firing Ireland was the right thing to do no matter how good a job our next GM does. You don't hang on to mediocrity because you fear letting go will result in failure. You let go of mediocrity and strive for excellence and you endure the future bumps in the road that take you there.

Hot d@mn! That is the pinnacle of pithy.

but did he value boldin over eddie moore.....

EVERYONE in that draft room thought BOLDIN was the pic. finz needed wr help, boldin was one of the top prospects in the draft and a florida guy.

all but DAVE WANSTEDT!! he had to have eddie moore. EVERY GUY in that room begged him to take boldin but he veto'd everyone and picked moore.

the rest is history.

and remember, wanny was given final say so on players [after he failed at it in chicago]. speilman was hand tied.

so, speilman LEAVES and gets a REAL gm gig with REAL gm powers and GUESS WHAT? he immediately starts stocking that team with big time talent.

wanny had WAY TO MUCH POWER and he made a lot of people look bad with HIS decisions. speilman has PROVEN he was not the bug-a-boo in miami, it was wanny!!

i would have no problem with speilman or someone who worked with him back here at this point evaluating talent.
