Is this what its come too?

Sam, the NFL's first openly gay draft prospect, was at complete ease answering questions from a massive media contingent during his availability at the NFL Scouting Combine.

One of those questions centered on the
Miami Dolphins, whose ugly locker room culture was laid bare in Ted Wells' independent report released last week. Knowing what the public now knows, would Sam be comfortable getting his name called by the Dolphins at Radio City Music Hall?

"If the Miami Dolphins drafted me I will be excited to be a part of that organization, but I'm not thinking about going into that environment," he said. "I know how to handle myself. I know how to communicate with my teammates. I know how to communicate with the coaches and know the staff, whoever I need to communicate with."

As much as many would like this to just go away, it's not going to. Learn to live with it or just ignore any reports or discussions about it.

Nice dig on the big weirdo

I don't care if the guy is gay, straight, black, white, purple or from Mars. As long as he can play at a high level and be a smart and disciplined guy on and off the field that's what we need.

Please god...no. No offense to the player, but we have had enough of the media. No more clown shows.
I believe we are well stocked along the Dline. No need to take Sam. He would do much better in Buffalo, New York or New England.

He seems about a million times smarter and more well-spoken than Richie, which will make him a far better leader than him as well (putting Richie in the same sentence as "leader" makes me  ). If he wasn't a 'tweener, I wouldn't mind having that kind of player on my team. Doesn't seem like he'd be a good fit here football-wise though.

What do you mean "tweaner"...:chuckle:

I agree. I got nothing against the guy even if he wants to make his sexual orientation a "thing"... just, the Dolphins have had enough distractions. Let another city handle the media.

Sounds like he already knows how to handle locker room problems better than Incognito or Martin

he doesn't play on the oline so i don't care who drafts him.

thanks but no thanks the Miami Dolphins are fully stocked right now in the Drama Department.

In that article you posted it says "If the Miami Dolphins drafted me I will be excited to be a part of that organization, but I'm not thinking about going into that environment,"

I just watched his presser, he actually said in regards to the bolded text: "but I'm not afraid about going into that environment"

Oh god no. Please, no purple people.

Are you generalizing all homosexuals as drama queens? That's very insensitive of you :chuckle:

This is pathetic. The only reason for the thread is because he is gay. How many other potential 5th round draft picks do want to talk about?

And IF we are "honestly" talking the draft, there is a draft forum. Yeah right. LOL

Since when do they have press conferences, for guys who are projected to be picked in the middle rounds? The circus with this guy has already begun, and whoever gets him will have an Opera Winfrey, Dr. Phil show on their hands.
