Mike Lombardi: Dolphins want Ryan Tannehill over Flynn

Oh lord...

More mediocrity coming right up...

Drafting him 8th overall would be an epic disaster...He is a 3rd round talent...

Not top 10...I'd rather have another OL instead of this Henne clone...
Not that I am saying Tannehill is first round prospect, but what makes you so sure he isn't? Most "experts" have him as a 1st rounder and seem to have him going anywhere between #8 and #25.

walrus is right...odds on tannehill being ready week 1 to play in the nfl seem pretty low...i would say if thats the route pretty much a lock week 1 starter is matt moore...and maybe all of 2012...

and if that happens get ready for another top 15 pick in 2013...if moore starts the entire season

And I'm fine with a top 15 pick next year. Atleast we have a future franchise QB developing. Draft Tannehill, instead of signing Manning/Flynn. We would have much more money to spend elsewhere

as for targettting tannehill and sitting at #8 and not getting trumped you do that at your own risk...whoever doesn't get flynn b/t cleveland and seattle is gonna be looking at tannehill hard i don't know that cleveland would pull the trigger at #4 but they may but seattle at #12 is probably already making plans if they miss on flynn to get in front of us...

so this whole the target is tannehill right now stuff if thats really the case could blow up in our faces...we're playin a dangerous game of poker and there's already and we're in march a ton of top 10 momentum with tannehill...
If that is the case, Miami may need to MOVE UP from #8.

Agreed. Seattle has already shown themselves to be aggressive movers in the draft. Wouldn't shock me to see them move ahead of us at all. And if it happened Jeff Ireland probably shrugs his shoulders, takes Nick Foles in round 3 and declares the problem solved.

Would Jacksonville trade that pick and drop to #12? Probably. Don't see Cleveland pulling the trigger there at #4 overall but I never would have guess Jake Locker at #8 last year, Christian Ponder at #12 last year and Blaine Gabbert at #17 last year.

If Cleveland does pull that trigger my guess is Claiborne to Tampa Bay at #5, Blackmon to St. Louis at #6 and Jacksonville is the wild card. Could go WR with Malcolm Floyd or could go DE with Coples. That leaves a lot of talent for us at #8 still.

Very impressive. I like this video too, showing every pass he threw during the game. Shows solid accuracy and deep touch, and of course, good scrambling ability. His 1 INT was, in part, due to his WR giving up on the ball, and that INT was his only incomplete pass for almost half the video.

i don't think tannehills a top 10 worthy guy either right now at least but i do think there's 1st round talent and upside with him...he's just raw and he has some things in his game i don't like that i'm betting nfl front offices are thinking with more time at qb they can ween him off of...i'm not so sure...i don't see great intangibles at this time and i think he has a tendency to stare down his targets that reminds me of henne in a lot of ways and thats not a good thing...

i'd much rather go the flynn route in 2012...and then in 2013 if he fails go get my qb in the draft...a draft with a lot of 1st round talent at the position...but thats just me

mike lombardi hasn't been right about anything miami related in probably 2 years...we'll find out here shortly how we feel about matt flynn...and if tannehill is the target better not sit still and let a seattle trump you for him...

You sir are spot on with the Lombardi assessment. How these get paid for throwing sh*t up against the wall is beyond me. I would have simply hit the thanks button if it was available

i could absolutely see jax dropping to #12 for a one this year and next from seattle...absolutely...

Flynn = AJ Feeley
Tannehill = Brady Quinn

If we can't sign Peyton then draft Weeden or Osweiler in the 2nd round. This way, if Matt Moore sucks next year (which he probably will) we'll at least have a young guy to put in and properly groom... If they all suck then it's HELLO MATT BARKLEY and we finally have a real quarterback. Win win.

Plus if we don't get Manning in FA we can go after another great player at a position of need like Grubbs, Mario Williams, or V Jax.

Don't worry next week they'll all say it was just a smoke screen....

and that it was unusual for a FO to start broad castings ones pick in the up coming draft...

Hey there is enough garbage being spread around for all sides pro and con to be fulfilled......and if your not hold on for a few minutes and something else will come your way...........
