I have been here since 2004, you guys were better in 2005 and 2008. Life goes on, there will be a time when you are better again, it could be this year, and I'll still be here.

I can see it now. Dolphins get to the 1st rd of the playoffs and win. Jets out of the playoffs. Dolphins lose in 2nd round. "The Jets made it to the AFC title game B2B years and are still better than the Dolphins".

Following year rinse and repeat.

I dont think its so much about "fun" in general as it is just the fact that (true or not) most of the things you post are positive about the Jets and negative about the Dolphins, us fans suffer enough watching our own teams lose during the season, so to have a fan of a direct division rival on a Dolphins board basically reminding us (true or not) of negative aspects of the Dolphins constantly and consistently throwing out how much better you think the Jets are than the Dolphins and the constant reminder of back to back title game "appearances" that to be honest (no offense) at least IMO, is the absolute last thing a Dolphin fan cares about or wants to hear, since most of the NFL media has been negative about the Dolphins for a while, its sometimes nice to come onto this site to find some positive Dolphins talk amongst Dolphins fans and talk about "hope" no matter if its real or not, so to come to this site with that expectation and then see that expectation of a Dolphins thread turn into a Jets vs. Dolphins thread and negatives been thrown out constantly about our own team, well nobody really wants to see that sometimes and posters (such as myself as well) sometimes get frustrated seeing it over and over again and get defensive, just as i would expect any passionate fan would do, but again thats just me

I think that is perception, sometimes when we get into these threads where we are attacking each others teams I can buy that but for the most part I call it as I see it. You have to be faie and realize my team has been better and deserves more praise than your team, when your team is better you'll deserve more praise and I have give that to Miami when they haveearned it and I bash my team when they earn it too.

i get that, but you act as if the Jets have been dominant and a consistent winning great team over the last decade (now let me get this out of the way) yes the jets have had more success in the playoffs which is the goal, however neither has achieved the ultimate goal or played in the biggest game, and yes believe me i know the Jets have been the closest, however....

since 2000 the records of each team

Jets: 99-93

Dolphins: 92-100

So in a decade the Jets are overall regular season 7 games better than the Dolphins (including a year where the Dolphins went 1-15 which severely made a difference in the overall)

The Jets 5 playoff appearances and the Dolphins 3 playoff appearances (and yes as i said i know the Jets have won more playoff games in the last decade)

my point is neither team in the last decade has consistently been a winner, won a conference title, played in a Super Bowl, or WON a Super Bowl which is really all that matters

Facts are facts, the records may be close b/c we had a couple of terrible years due to losing our QBs but we have had playoff success while Miami has not. That's the biggest difference and 2 of your 3 playoff apps came in '00 and '01, from '02-'11(10 seasons) you have 1 playoff app and zero playoff wins while we have 5 playoff apps, 6 playoff wins and 2 conf title game apps.

We have been significantly better than Miami in recent history.

On the other hand, we have 5 post merger Super Bowl appearances, Jets have none. We have been significantly better than NYJ over the NFL history of the franchises. (Facts are Facts)

clearly i went over all that and made sure to specifically, but you still use it as your only argument, but what did those 5 playoff appearances, 6 playoff wins, and 2 conf title game LOSSES get you? same thing as the Dolphins......NOTHING

again the main point was to show that the Jets are not the big bad world beaters you make them out to be as if they have been dominating the past decade and winning divisions and getting home playoff games and byes and dominating bad teams, only the Patriots can make that claim, but you dont see Pats fans on this forum saying "oh well we have 2 Super Bowl appearances in 07' and 12'," and they actually made it to the big game, their not bragging about appearances and road playoff wins b/c the only thing that matters is winnig the whole thing


besides you using that as your main and only argument every time you enter a thread, it has done nothing for the Jets, if anything those 2 conf title game LOSSES have done nothing but add pressure and expectations, and we saw when the Jets didnt get their favorable breaks and teams laying down and beating crappy teams by the skin of their teeth, they were exposed, your coach was exposed, your qb was exposed, your "captain" WR was exposed and your locker room was exposed as a disaster, and now thankd to your coach the pressure to win will be even more this season as many have said this is Sanchez last chance to take the next step since he regressed badly last season after barely being mediocre his first 2 seasons

yes i know.... he "lead them" to 2 conf title game losses on the road, bad qbs dont do that, same argument over and over again

That's great but the 70s & 80s are long gone. I have never debated who has the better all time history but please step into this Century.

Those 5 playoff apps, 6 playoff wins gave us 11 extra games to watch, 11 extra weeks of the anticipation of big games and seeing my team compete for conf titles. that is much more fun than what I saw this year or have seen from Miami in the last decade.

stop w/ the favorable breaks BS, all good teams get breaks- did you watch the Giants run this year? The bottom line is we have jhad one of the best teams in the league the past few years and Miami hasn't even competed for a postseason berth.

This is not sanchez' last chance, he still has 2 title game apps in 3 seasons.

The difference is that the last decade is consider one of Miami's worst in history, while for the Jets it is considered one of the best.

The Jets only have 3 more playoff appearances and 7 more regular season wins than what the Dolphins could produce in one of their worst decades of football. :hclap: That is even more impressive when you consider that the Dolphins missed the playoffs with a 10-6 record, in 2003, and a 9-7 record in 2005. Meanwhile the Jets were winning an AFCE title (1 of only 2 in their entire history) at 9-7, and were gifted another playoff spot in 09 at 9-7.
