Mike Sherman and Rex Ryan have something in common

See what I mean? You say this is fun, how can you have fun saying the same **** over and over knowing you're outnumbered and people will always disagree with you? I don't get it

why does it bother you if I enjoy this? we are all different.

The difference is that the last decade is consider one of Miami's worst in history, while for the Jets it is considered one of the best.

The Jets only have 3 more playoff appearances and 7 more regular season wins than what the Dolphins could produce in one of their worst decades of football. :hclap: That is even more impressive when you consider that the Dolphins missed the playoffs with a 10-6 record, in 2003, and a 9-7 record in 2005. Meanwhile the Jets were winning an AFCE title (1 of only 2 in their entire history) at 9-7, and were gifted another playoff spot in 09 at 9-7.

The difference is Miami is getting worse each decade while the Jets are getting better each decade.

Again, in the last 10 seasons it's 5 playoff apps to 1 and 6 playoff wins to none.

Miami had a chance to make the playoffs in 2003, they choked then won 2 meaningless games to end the season, in 2005 they won a bunch of game slate after they were out of the race. In 2002 we had to beat NE on the road and 12-3 Gb to win the division(and also have Miami choke). Stop w/ the excuses.

ZERO playoff wins 2001-current, that's pretty bad. That's the same amount of playoff wins as Buffalo.

Each decade? These last 12 years has been some of the worst and the Jets only have 3 more playoff appearances and 7 more regular season wins. 2 of those playoff appearances came from a 9-7 record.

9-7 is usually not good enough for a playoff spot in the AFC, but it was good enough for the Jets twice this past decade. You can say the Dolphins choked in 03, but they still won 10 games which is more games than what the Jets had in 2 of their playoff appearances. The Jets have had only 1 playoff appearance with 11 wins this past decade, and 10 wins was good enough twice.

It is funny how you can take away credit from a team that won 10 games while at the same time give credit to a team that couldn't even win 9 on their own.

Actually if you want to take that a step further, aside from the charity that was so egregious that it forced the league to revise their late season scheduling policy, the one game NYJ actually needed to win to keep legitimate hope alive was Atlanta in game 15 at home in which they came up short. And at 9-7, this was the weakest Falcons team in the last 4 years.

That's great but the 70s & 80s are long gone. I have never debated who has the better all time history but please step into this Century.

Those 5 playoff apps, 6 playoff wins gave us 11 extra games to watch, 11 extra weeks of the anticipation of big games and seeing my team compete for conf titles. that is much more fun than what I saw this year or have seen from Miami in the last decade.

stop w/ the favorable breaks BS, all good teams get breaks- did you watch the Giants run this year? The bottom line is we have jhad one of the best teams in the league the past few years and Miami hasn't even competed for a postseason berth.

This is not sanchez' last chance, he still has 2 title game apps in 3 seasons.

hahahaahahaha yes the "best" because best is 9-7 and the colts letting you into the playoffs

since im sure you will want to include the 09/10 seasons b/c you are obsessed with those title game LOSSES years, for the last 3 season the Jets have a great wonder elite amazing record of......

28-20, wow 8 games over .500, that is really "best" right there, (again your usual response, they won playoff games, nobody cares, they didnt win the game the matters most or even get to play in it, so it is pointless to repeat 7,000 times like you have)

not even comparing them to the Dolphins, b/c i will admit they have been worse than the Jets those past 3 seasons, but for you to say the Jets have been one of the "best" teams over the past few years is where you lose the little credibility you have left, 97-, 11-5, and 8-8, if you can honestly call that "one of the best" i dont know what to say, what does that make teams like the Patriots, Steelers, Packers, Saints....immortal all world impossible to beat teams

Let them be one of the best teams in the last 3 years. I'll let the Giants be the best team period over the last 4.

Whatever you want to call it, you have ONE playoff win since 2000.

sometimes 9-7 is good enough and sometimes it isn't, our 9-7 team in '02 or '09 was MUCH better than your 11-5 team in 2008.

In the last 3 years only one team has made it as far as a conf title game twice- the New York Jets. Whether you want to admit it or not the Jets have been one of the best teams in the league since Rex took over.

I call it one of the worst decades in Dolphin history. That is why I think it is silly to brag about the Jets best decade of football when it only has 3 more playoff appearances and 7 more regular season wins than Miami's worst decade. Especially when 2 of those playoff appearances in that decade came at 9-7 while the Dolphins missed out on 2 playoff appearances while finishing at 10-6, and 9-7.

We will never know which teams were better since it is hard to compare teams of past. What we do know is that the Jets got to face a weak Colts team in the playoffs in 02, and were given a playoff spot in 09. The Dolphins had to face a very strong Bal team that made it to the AFCC game that year. You can say those Jets teams were better, but who knows how well the Dolphins could have done had they faced the type of competition the Jets were fortunate enough to face those years.

I'm confident that those Jets teams would have been annihilated against the 08 Ravens.

"Coach Rex Ryan left open the possibility that the Jets will pursue Peyton Manning this offseason."

real confidence in the QB you are obsessed with defending....

coaches with real good franchise QB's dont leave the possibility open, they say their QB is the guy and there is nobody else

amazing how he can guarntee Super Bowls, but basically cant and wont guarntee that Sanchez is a franchise QB and their is no need to even possibly think of bringing in a better QB

who cares what our record was? again, some years 9-7 can get you in and some years it can't. Our 9-7 teams were better than any dolphin teams in the 00s and probably better than any dolphin teams in the 90s. The bottom line is we had playoff success, something Miami hasn't had in a long time.

Why was that Colts team weak? b/c we blasted them? the Colts would make a title game app the next season. The '08 dolphins would not have betaen any of the teams we beat in '09 or '10.

He left open the possibility of getting Drew Brees and Ray lewis too, the Jets organization leaves no stone unturned when looking for talent. he has backed Sanchez 100% since the end of the season, we aren't getting Peyton and we don't want Peyton.

You have the right to your opinion, but it is not like either of us can really prove which teams of the past were better. I have little doubt that the 08 Dolphins could have beaten Cincy, and the 02 Colts.

After the win against the Colts, that 02 Jets team got embarrassed against the Raiders. Had the Dolphins beat the Colts and then lost to the Raiders like the Jets did, you would be telling me how Manning had never won a playoff game and how losing to the Raiders showed that they didn't belong in the playoffs.

Win and losses directly relate to whether a team makes the playoffs or not. The Jets made it twice at 9-7 and the Dolphins missed out at 9-7 and 10-6. The Dolphins were unfortunate that their 10 win team didn't play in 02, or 09. You can say the Jets 9-7 teams were better, but who knows what the Dolphins could have done in the playoffs.

Yes, the Jets have had more recent playoff success than the Dolphins. Not something I would be bragging about since this has been one of the worst decades of football Miami has played, and the Jets have only been slightly better in playoff appearances and regular season wins.

It is about as silly as me bragging that the Dolphins were 5-3 in the last 8 games of the season while the Jets went 3-5? That is the most recent history right? Or maybe we will just use the last game of the season as a reference. :chuckle:

Cincy at home but not on the road, '02 Indy? maybe at home but you wouldn't have crushed them the way we did.

The Jets didn't get embarrassed by oakland, don't just look at the final score. That game was 10-10 very late in the 3rd qtr, it's not like Miami's playoff losses in that era where they were out of it by the end of the 1st or 2nd qtr.

manning hadn't won a playoff game yet but we didn't beat them in OT like Mia '00, we thrashed them from start to finish a week after thrashing 12-3 GB that was fighting for homefield and 2 weeks after beating NE soundly at NE in waht would be their last home loss until 2005.

You can keep talking about it being one of their worst decades but who cares? Miami has been getting worse each decade. they peaked int he 70s, got worse in the 80s then the 90s, 00s and starting out the '10s getting worse.

I'm not bragging, I am stating facts. You guys love to bash the Jets but the facts are our team has been much better in recent times.

There's a 0% chance Brees and Lewis aren't retained by their teams. Manning is different.

yes he is, he's an expensive, old, broken down QB. I will be shocked if we even offer him a contract let alone sign him and if we do I will be more annoyed w/ this team than I have ever been. Brett favre was bad enough, we don't need Brett favre part II
