I think Ginn had something like 5 TDs last year and was returning kicks...sad but I would take that kind of production.
i don't think landrys winning any kick off return job he's not explosive enough...he could win the punt return gig but my moneys on thigpen once again winning both return jobs and making the 53...
mike wallace if this offense is what i think it is is too valuable to lose on returns...and god knows charles clay wants his presence on the field to open up things for him down the seam etc
will be interesting to see the first quarter of the season vs say the first half if they really trust the protection...in other words is wallace gonna run stop routes every time he is given a cushion if it's not pa cause the oc doesnt trust the protection and we can't afford to wait for wallace to invade and blow by bailing or off coverage...
last year i saw an awful lot of stop routes etc on off coverage where with the steelers they didnt care they still worked the field vertical with wallace and let the routes develop...true sign they trusted the protection
It wasnt the protection it was big Ben being able to buy time with his size and his eyes
You could be right.Mike Wallace is yanking all of your chains.
I've seen a lot of his Steeler games and he's not a Desean Jackson type of player. Not knocking him or saying he's not a good player, he just doesn't make people miss like Jackson or Barry Sanders type of players do.
there was some of that for sure...but they also then trusted the protection WAY more than we did last year...only time we even tried to work vertical was off pa...that should tell you something
admittedly though bens ability to let things develop and move around in the pocket etc while they do made a big difference...but ben wasn't doing that at that level in his 2nd year in the league either...and it's pretty sad that people don't understand that around here when it comes to our qb but i digress...they think the guy should handle the pocket like a maestro out of the womb
Unfortunately, I can hear the Andrew Luck crowd say, "Why Not?"
