Miko Grimes Interview (Talks about player's confidence in coaches / Tannehill)

The whole team is a flaming dumpster fire of mediocrity. Coaching, Offense, Defense, and special teams.

I completely agree with you. But I'm tired of logging on to Finheaven, and people acting like this QB is the definitive answer. He's not. Not even close.

Tannehill shouldn't be left unscathed. He always folds when the team has needed him the most. Stop with the coddling of the QB.

The defense is supposed to be the tone setter for this team and they have been stink out loud bad.

I will say it again...get a stop.

Hard to set a tone when your offense only scores 1 TD per game.

The average is 5 plus TD per NFL contest. When you only score 1 the Defense will most like give up 4 to 5. That is the way averages work.

Now if the offense was scoring 2-3 TD's per game in this stretch and the defense was losing the games I might agree with you.

But you are only going to win about 15% of the games when you only score a single TD. That is a fact.

I ain't listening to no crazy broad tell me about my team, unless I'm putting dollar bills in her g-string and she's complimenting me on my new Fins hat

Well the defense has given up 48 points in the last two second halves.

When you don't score TD's the other team does. 5 per game is the average in a NFL contest. What don't you understand about that?

How come the Bills D never quits even when the offense is stinking it up?

According to Miko...Philbin is not the problem. The players want to play for him and are responding to him. Make of that what you will.

Jesus, if this is how they play and respond to him when they like him, I can only imagine what would happen if they packed it in.

Really? With all the issues on this team, you are going to hang your hat on comments made by the wife of one of the players? Who by the way has a financial interest in making her husband look good? I don't think RT is perfect by any stretch....but come on.....thats ridiculous.

Neither Brent Grimes or RT are anywhere close to the top of my list of issues needing fixed. Additionally, I can make up my own mind about what I see during the games and the performance of the players.....and if I need help, I will not ask for it or take it from one of the players wives.

Do you realize how stupid this sounds?

Exactly.

3 POINTS in the last two second halves. THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if the defense was better, we STILL wouldn't even be in the game.

She said she poled some players and to a man the players respect and want Philbin back. She said some players don't think Tannehill can win in this league, while others still have faith in him.

I agree with her, the team has enough talent to be successful. Just recover the fumble in the Green Bay game, which was just total luck of the draw, and we're 8-6. If the ball is a smidgen better thrown, or if Clay makes a better effort in the Detroit game maybe we're 9-5. Tannehill engineers a comeback drive instead of throwing a pick against Denver and maybe we're 10-4.

In some ways we seemed really really close to breaking out from mediocrity. In other ways it seems like we're a universe away. The team does seem to quit when we get down at times. I think part of that is on Philbin, but a big part is on Tannehill. Brady, Luck, Wilson, Rodgers and all of the elites can bring you back from being down even 20+ points. I think if you have that, and you believe in that, you're going to keep fighting. When you don't have that you're going to be left with a "here we go again" feeling. Its an intangible that Tannehill doesn't have. What was the biggest deficit he's brought us back from? More than 10 even?

Anyway, it doesn't matter what the players want. Tannehill and Philbin clearly can't work together, and Tannehill isn't going anywhere as we've put all of our eggs into his basket, so we only have one real option.

Perhaps she should talk to her husband/client about his piss poor effort on the Embleman TD? As much as I like Brent, and his comeback story this situation is why I didn't want him back. Before you people go there I use to smash Brenda Warner for her antics too.
You could but then she'll just smack her lips, twist her neck, flip her weave and call you a "hater"

:chuckle:

I'm not hanging my hat on anything. I've seen enough of Tannehill with my eyes to know he's lacks the natural instincts and intangibles to carry the Dolphins offense over the top. 3 years, and no sign of clutch ability in big games. And as far the tangible skill? His accuracy and ball location on anything beyond 20 yards is inconsistent at best.

You aren't winning anything with Tannehill as your QB, unless you have perfect personnel across the board. And in a salaried cap league, that is near impossible to do.

This is the single most important position on the field. Why settle for mediocrity?

Deciding to play 60 now...now? Really...should be since week 1.
Philbin...disease...
Top to bottom cleaning; including Hickey and Aponte...CLEAN HOUSE
Took 2 years to see Tannehill do anything...had success...2nd half we shut it down. Why?
Can't beat zone? Really? Tannehill can't read zone...
If you are impressed with completing 70% in a box and not getting down-field....YOU ARE AN IDIOT...(his words, not mine...but I won't argue)
Clearly Tannehill doesn't have it...
D is an embarrassment...

Miko:
We are banged up...our #2's didn't get it done. No pressure on QB...
13 points, what teams are we going to beat with 13 points?
This games is designed for O to score points!
Tannehill was good in 1st...stopped in 2nd...
Don't know what came out of the locker room in the 2nd half...
Disagrees that players don't respond to Philbin
Frustration is not with the coaches....There is a division in team about Tannehill..............................................
The players would like to keep coaching staff...

O: Mistake to keep 17 as QB; backup only...
Married to mediocre if we keep this staff....
Clean house...

Quit listening after Miko...

Oh I'm done fighting the QB argument. We should trade all our draft picks and get whoever you guys want. A new QB should fix all of the issues on offense and defense.

Miko says the players want to play for Philbin...keep Philbin and get the new QB. She clearly knows.

I'm not sure giving Philbin a pass because of the OL injuries is an excuse. It's also not an excuse that the offense never bails out the defense. The offense was unproductive in the first half yesterday, and the D probably expected more points. The fault of the loss yesterday was 1) OL crappy blocking on run plays and just as bad blocking for the pass, Fox, Pouncey and Dallas Thomas do not belong on a team that is going to win. 2) Philbin with 2nd and short we couldn't convert a first down and had to try a FG that was run back for a TD a 14 pt swing because they couldn't convert 2nd and short while playing for their jobs. That's inexcusable piss poor play calling. 3) The D has no reason to blame anyone but themselves when they couldn't stop even 1 2nd half Pats drive. They were victimized by undrafted RBs against Denver and the Pats and show no sign of hope when it comes to stopping the run or pass.
