If you're in the address-RT-by-all-means mode, I think this is the safest option. I wouldn't go this route, but I'd get it. I'd rather trade up for Matthews than draft Martin at 19.
Matthews at 8 is good value. I think last year he would have went in top 3 based on his last year. I don't advocate moving up at all costs but would prefer that to who we traded up for last year.
Thanks OP, really enjoyed reading that and certainly a lot of logic in it. I hope we don't trade up and if we didn't it wouldn't surprise me if we went for Bitonio or XSF if the rest plays out as above.
I think in most drafts you have a run on tackles, and with less off season time most teams are struggling on the oline. As a result it will be very easy to second guess Hickey no matter what he does, but if he trades up to get a tackle getting decent value I don't think I could complain although it isn't my preference.I have no problem trading up for an OT. We definitely need one just make sure you get it right.

It would take our 1st, 2nd, and 5th at the very minimum to move up to #9 overall. I seriously doubt that happens.
Being that Hickey is recently on record as saying he would rather have more overall picks than less picks at a higher value in this draft, I'm going to guess we aren't trading up to #9.
I just cant stomach trading up for a RT considering we have so many other needs. Im ok taking a RT rd1 if a good one is available, but we just handed a ton load of money to Albert, why trade up for a RT?????
I'm just saying what I think will happen
