More signs dolphins are losing top dog status in Miami maybe 3rd best now..

not trying to defend the dolphins ineptitude over the past decade plus, but you can not compare a football team to a basketball team really.

in basketball, usually all u need is 1 real good player and a bunch of solid players and u will be competitive every year. football it takes a lot more.

so its not surprising that the heat ''rarely'' stink it up.

And despite the dolphins ineptitude over the past decade, they are still a more successful franchise than the heat will ever be.

lol, tell that to the LA Clippers, Charlotte Bobcats, Minnesota TWolves, Toronto Raptors, Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies etc.

And to the last line. No, the Heat will match them in championships within the next 4 years easily. And they've existed what? 22 years less?

The Heat is just a much better managed franchise. Since the Dolphins went in the tank a decade ago.

We like a good product.

That's it in a nut shell. The Dolphins and Canes of old set many attendance records. You could not get a ticket. Now the Heat is sold out for the year I believe.

It's easy it set back and rip the local fans from afar. They do what they can.

Call them fair weather fans. Ok , that may be fair.

But as a business man myself i know that I have competition and I have to delivery a better produce or I lose out.

Ross is no dummy and he's trying everything to generate interest to no avail.

After that it is ALL up to the team.

JUST WIN BABY .... that fixes everything.

I don't get all this. I don't understand this whole "This local team is better than that local team". Of course The Heat are more popular at the moment, they're putting a much more exciting product out there. They were 2 games from winning the championship with a team consisting of 3 great players and members of the retirement home b-ball team. Not only that, they have one of the best and most well respected owners and FO's in the league. Oh and they've won a championship in the past 5 years.

People love a winner, plain and simple.

Meanwhile the Phins have been stuck in mediocrity for almost a decade. They've gone through a carousel of coaches, FO blunders, and QB controversies every damn year since Marino retired. There's no stability right now, and until this is fixed...expect an inferior product on the field.

But once it is fixed...you better believe the Phins will be the toast of Miami once again. Despite it all, it's still a football town. These are "the dark times" all teams go through, it's just that long time fans aren't used to this. For most of the teams existence, the Dolphins were a model of consistency. While not always Super Bowl caliber, at least a playoff contender year in and year out. Not anymore, and haven't really been for a long time now.

Right now, most of the attention has been shifted to our glitzy, star studded little brothers by the beach, and rightfully so. But don't worry though, once big brother get it's act together, they'll remind everyone why Miami is a football town :hump:

*This is just my opinion of course

Don't care about the Hurricanes. They might even get the death penalty, not likely, but still remains a possibility.

Don't care about the Heat. They tried to buy a championship and failed to deliver. On top of that the 2011-2012 season might not happen.

Don't care about the Marlins. In fact, no one really cares about the Marlins. They had a game recently where the attendance was 347 fans.

I do like the Panthers and they are my NHL team. However, they have the longest playoff drought in the NHL and have been mostly irrelevant.

Everything you said except for the hockey comments I agree with.

You dudes just LOVE to hear the word "death penalty" come out of your mouths. The media, newspapers, Gators, Seminoles...that's all we hear. "Death penalty."

NEVER. GOING. TO. HAPPEN. IN. COLLEGE. FOOTBALL. EVER. AGAIN.

It's just not practical in today's game. The NCAA is not out to execute ANY program these days...especially in this poor economy all across the nation. And they're damn sure not going to want to execute TV ratings GOLD that is the Miami Hurricanes football. Say what you want about the Hurricanes sucking or whatever, because when it comes to bringing eyeballs to the television sets, the Miami Hurricanes BRING THEM. Bet that. Take a look at the highest rated college football games in history. The Miami Hurricanes are up there.

No death penalty. No TV ban. Maybe a bowl ban for a year. Few scholarships lost.

But it's incredible the number of people who read ONE article and think that a death penalty is a possibility when the NCAA has repeatedly said in pressers that the University has one of the premier compliance offices in the nation and has been fully transparent throughout the entire length of the investigations.

Besides, Miami self-reported these infractions last year.

No one cares about the Hurricanes. No one cares about the Panthers. No one cares about the Marlins. And no one cares about the Dolphins right now. Everyone loves the Heat because that team has star power and Miami is a star driven town. It's all about A listers in the city, who's in what club, South Beach, plastic surgery, and being seen. The Miami Heat embody all of that.

This is the city of Miami.

look i get that the heat is a flawed team
though despite those flaws they will make deep runs in the playoffs every year..

With the dolphins right now everybody looks inconsistent
i never thought i would say that but who is the dolphins most consistent player Fields?
You know when your punter was the player of the game it was a bad day..

Speak for yourself. You know what the difference is between the Fins and the Heat? The Heat rarely "stink it up." They consistently have had winning seasons since they came into the NBA.

That's because Micky Arison is one of the premier owners in all of sports. Dude takes risks and does what it takes to win.

More outsiders speaking on what the city of Miami and the Miami-Metro area are like than people who actually live/lived there and still spend several weekends a year there. Dolphins suck right now. Fans are reacting negatively to it. Heat are great right now, fans are selling out the stands. Can't get a ticket to Heat games these days. I wish Micky Arison would buy the Dolphins from that big-eared freak Stephen Ross.

Five years is all we would need under Arison. Straight **** Ross. I'd rather have Rick Ross. UHHHHHHHHH.

If the Heat go into the tank, fans are headed back to the beaches. If the Dolphins become a contender, fans will pack the stands no matter how hot it is or how ****ty of an area Sun Life is in.

Jcane will probably get slammed for that but there is a lot of truth to it.

When the Fins are the thing to do everyone will be there on Sunday.

Of course I'll get slammed for it because it's the truth.

And if there's one thing that people hate, it's the TRUTH. No one wants to hear it but they don't want to be lied to either.

This city DOES NOT CARE IF YOU DO NOT WIN.

SO WIN OR DEAL WITH IT.

Drives me ****ing bat **** crazy to hear people slam this city, these fans and then those SAME PEOPLE don't think we need a kid like Andrew Luck because he's "unproven." You want fans to fill the stadium? Simple solution: WIN. How? Franchise QB, brotha. We're not curing cancer here, fellas. We're playing some good ol' American football.

Chad Henne has PROVEN to be unproven and you guys still want to wheel him out there week after week. He might be improved, and I've given him a TON of credit for that after bashing him all offseason, but improved or not, he's not winning us a Super Bowl.

Speaking as someone who is not a Canes fan, I can tell you
at least down my way nobody cares about the Hurricanes at all.

You have to be relevant nationally for people to care about you
and what you do.

I've seen plenty of empty Hurricane games. The Ohio State being one of them (figure about 10k OSU fans if not more). You would think that's like a playoff game? Not to mention Miami lost to Maryland the game before. Seeing as it's a private school and the stadium isn't on campus I don't foresee a ton of drunk college kids driving an hour or so for a football game. Just my opinion on it though. I have a buddy who graduated from the U who will likely just tell you the same thing, who also grew up in Florida.

Want to talk Orange Bowl? That's a different story. This is why I want to promote a move WITHIN Florida.

70,000 with no seats bought by the management is not empty. I heard from a fan on here it was much louder than the Fins game Sunday.
Most people hate the Canes and Heat but the people who live here love them and the point is they do take attendence away from the Fins. Especially when they are winning.

1 -11 at home will do that to you dude.
