incognito left voicemails calling the guy a half ****** piece of ****, said h'd slap his real mother and **** in his moth and told him he'd kill him. i don't think any lawyer who has a heartbeat will too hard a time showing this as harassment, especially since the harassment was still going on up until martin left.

is there any evidence it kept going on? thats my question. they have new voicemails apparently but if they are as old as the one we know about you can't convince anyone it went on for another 7? months

Honestly, being an African-American man, I'd start to get ticked if he continuously used that word on my voicemail too. Especially if he continued to threaten to slap my mother and $hit in my mouth. I wouldn't have handled it the same way as Martin but that would make me EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

If he was saying it tongue in cheek amongst being each other's friend, would you still be offended? I'm asking because the confusion part for me is that the whole team loves Richie and it sounds as though Richie and Martin were inseparable

The players made a decision to try this in the press, bad strategy, Now Martins team comes out and contradicts some of what the players said....back and forth with the accusations no one wins, its best to keep your mouth shut, if you say anything make sure its positive short and change the subject....we could learn a few things on how Belicheat runs things in Boston.....not one active player said anything of value in the Hernandez case and Belicheat had one press conference on it and then they shut it down....end of story, end of distraction....

Play football guys, let this thing work its way to its conclusion.....only thing you can do is win football games, if you lose it becomes bigger.....

There's no saving Richie from this. Martin's people are determined to bury him. Whether it's because Martin truly was tormented by him (certainly possible) or because it's part of a legal strategy, Richie must go down here.

Every time there is a pushback in the narrative that undermines the Martins' case, they will release more stuff. They are saving this stuff.

And Martin's "people" are very, very intelligent and skilled at what they do. I agree. I think Incognito is destined to get buried by this.

Still the strangest part of this story is that apparently Richie and Martin were friends who hung out off the field. I still don't understand why Martin didn't think the 2 of them could sit down and have a relaxed conversation about the voicemails if it really bothered him. As far as we know this bullying never got physical right? Maybe I'm missing something here but to me a bully is someone who makes you feel uncomfortable as soon as they walk into a room. They are not someone you willingly hang out with alone. Just seems like Martin could have went about this in many different ways but instead decided to go this route. I'm with Ricky and many of the posters on here, Martin wanted to quit football and is just using this as an excuse for being a piss poor tackle that a washed up 34 year old stepped in and was better after just 3 days of practice.

whatever happened in the cafeteria, no matter how minor it may sound, can be shown as proof of continues harassment.

I disagree ... I've seen a few. There are a lot of considerations that go into these cases.They absolutely not givens either way ... but the latest revelations serve to put doubt in these claims.

Many cases that on the surface appear to be cut and dry, are derailed by the possibility of ulterior motives. And ... throw in eyewitness testimony and a history of mental illness, and suddenly a sure thing becomes a nightmare for the accuser.

Remember, the other side will have an attorney with a heartbeat as well and you can bet they won't just roll over.

The fact that he shared the voicemails with teammates and laughed and joked about them throws harassment out the window? If someone is sexually harassed at work do they sit around and laugh and joke about it with coworkers before reporting it? Come on man!!!!

same can be said about a battered wife who stays with her husband for years and years. mental abuse can really screw with a weak person and even cause them to try harder to get the abusers approval and friendship. by all accounts martin seems to be a weakminded man.

i said somewhere else that this can easily be explained as martin trying to fit in and laugh it off, hoping desperately deep down that the abuse would stop. like i said, previous apparent condoning of the abuse doesn't preclude the victim from changing their mind.

I get what you're saying because everyone has their own tolerance. I know with my friends and co-workers we rib each other like that and worse but no one gets hurt, everyone inVolved has thick skin and now out to really hurt each other.
I'm fascinated with race relations regarding the "N" word and how it's used with people. I know most black people call each other that but would never hear it from someone who is white. But now this case it seems like Starks and rest of the black players didn't have a problem with it and it seems it's used in their locker room as an endearment term.
