Mort said nfl wants to restore once proud franchise, says ireland is gone

That 2nd round pick on Martin, finally pays off if Ireland is gone. Phillibin can go to for all I care, he has not impressed me one bit.

That would be the first time he got a 2nd-rounder right...LOL

How embarrassing if the league has to come in and do our owners job!

I don't care how embarrassing it is! Ross doesn't have a ****ing clue what he is doing, or else this place would have been scrubbed two years ago. If the league can help our moron owner out...all the better.

PFT has a story now that claims Ross is "apopleptic" with the situation. That's a good word. I think I've actually said that's how he should feel, so maybe his behind the scenes PR guys are reading my posts.

Ireland and Philbin are ****ing toast. Everyone is toast. Get ready for the Gruden boys.

I hope he's mad enough to sell the team...

A couple of scenarios will play out. Everyone will stay put or people will be put in place that are far worse than what we have now. Be prepared.

The worries and opinions of anyone still defending this group doesn't worry me a whole lot...

Said people within the organization already fear they lost their jobs and ireland is without a doubt gonna be gone. Says the league wants to restore a once proud franchise & completely implement a whole new organizational structure in miami. Philbin is probably gone too

Is this the same NFL who have got their pundits to slate and diss on the Dolphins? I include Coach Ditka who had one of his players smack a bag of coins in the face of a rookie and cracking his eye socket? If the NFL are innocent then i'm a pink elephant. Its called "turning a blind eye". They have let this go on for yrs and yrs. "what stays in the locker room room stays in the locker room" until it gets out. It got out and guess who the patsy is? Our team. It stinks.

The Grudens would be able to give this franchise some much needed respect from the media.
If they can coach, then that would be a bonus.
It can't wait to see the Chucky faced Dolphin porking the guy on the dock...lol

The hypocrisy is normal daily life. These guys have no reflection when they look into a mirror.

different era....there probably weren't any horsecollar or roughing the passer calls back then either. The NFL may have let it go back then, but they're trying not to anymore - too much profit at stake now.

I can live with losing Ireland, however, I'd like Philbin to stick around. Were a playoff/super bowl contender next year with Philbin, without it's rebuild again. Philbin could be saved because of he came from Green Bay (a model the NFL likes).

This will set back this team three years, expect free agents like Grimes to leave, players like Wake to decline under a new system, and Tannehill to likely regress trying to learn a while new system. Fantastic. Three more years of
Losing.

And if they stay the length of losing in Miami will be however long they stay employed + 3 years. These guys will never be winners.

Yea I don't see anyway Ireland survives this. It's scary how much turnover and drama we have had in Ross's short tenure as owner.

Well i hope if there is any justice these hypocrites get found out and they get investigated and judged. I think if Incognito had killed a few dogs or shot someone in the leg, put a bounty on someones career by purposely wrecking their football career by illegally tackling them or alledgedly killed someone this might have been put as blip on the NFL alas its deemed as the biggest story for ages. NFL should look at themselves and their morals when doing their "investigation".

If these guys are fired, then the Dolphins office is made of straws.

How did Ray Lewis and his team get over his alleged involvement with a murder?

I'll try and remember this post when i watch the Colts and Chiefs in the playoffs this season.

NFL teams are their own entities. While Goodell is a tyrant, he can only use the power he has been granted by the owners. The league forcing an owner to hire someone he doesnt want to hire would never get approved. No matter what scandal erupts, the owners wont give up that power. It just wont happen. As well, why would the league want to do that? Say the hire goes bad and/or the bad hire is involved in a scandal, the league would be eaten alive.

Just this past year people freaked out when there were no minority hires. Did the league demand a team fire their coach and hire, say, Hue Jackson? Once the hires started happening, did Goodell step in and force the Cardinals to hire someone other then Bruce Arians? Of course not. They made up a committee, drew up new ideas, and stressed the owners need to make those interviews in good faith. Hardly groundbreaking.

The NFL can recommend, but cant enforce. They could suspend/ban Ireland, but they couldnt fire him. Only Ross can. But at the end of the day, it might not be bad idea for Ross to follow the leagues advice. The decisions hes made thus far...i mean, my god, he resigned Sparano, extended Ireland, and hired Philbin who apparently has no earthly idea what happens in his own locker room. If thats the beginning of a trend, im all about the league stepping in.

HC list.. Either Gruden, Greg Roman, and wildcard David Shaw (highly unlikely to leave a great situation at Stanford to walk into this mess though). Gruden could be a possibility, he likes Tannehill and if you give him some control over the roster that might lure him in

Perhaps try to add Marino into the Dolphin's organization somehow (Team President?) to help bring back a degree of respectability.

I remember Eric Dickerson's sentiment to SMU about rebuilding right before they hired June Jones on ESPN's "Pony Excess" ..... the old players want to be involved.

On the surface, this organization embraces Marino, Shula and the 1972 Dolphins. But I'll be completely honest, when I took my first trip to Sun Life for the Baltimore game, I didn't get that warm fuzzy feeling that we have hallowed halls that celebrate greatness of players and teams of days gone by. It's a cold place. There is an extreme disconnect. It's not like you walk into the stadium and feel you are privileged to be walking on sacred ground. It's more like your walking into an amusement park with one ride and a lot of concession stands.

It's kinda like the feeling you get when you are driving to the NFL Hall of Fame. When you are approaching the building, it reminds you of a tiny barber shop crammed between a lot of other more important structures. "This is it?!" "A billion dollar organization with nearly a centure of history has THIS as it's Hall of Fame?"

We have a LOT of tradition and history that should be embraced. I mean honestly, we have enough history with Marino, Shula and the 1972 Dolphins we could dedicate an entire building just with their memorabilia, accomplishments and legacies.

I did see the Marino statue. I guess I expected this towering figure to cast a shadow on all those who entered.

Forget my expectations or my impressions. The fact remains we don't have a "Home Field". We need more than a logo change. We need to completely rethink how this organization connects to its fans and the rest of the NFL.

He was going to be fired if we missed the playoffs regardless.

The news here will be people saying Philbin will be out...He probabaly would of been given another yr even if we finished 7-9/8-8

Gruden won't come here. I love the guy, but I can see him back in Oakland. He's 1 of the few guys that likes it there and they will give him full control.
