.was Warfield great?..hell yeah, but..all these guys I would take ahead of Warfield in a heartbeat..and the stats back it up too
so if you've seen them play it changes the stats?...wtf?...Cris Carter annihilates Warfield in statsOriginally posted by zachseau13
You have not seen 1/2 of these guys play. You have no idea what you are talking about.
One of the the top 3 RB of all time might have been Gale Sayers but his stats would not back that up.
Art Monk, Andre Reed, Irving Fryar, and Cris Carter are not even in the same league.
When the picked the greatest 100 football players of the century Warfield was there with a handful of other receivers. Most of the guys you have listed were not.
I honestly believe Marino was either the best or 2nd best qb ever.Originally posted by zachseau13
Realize also that many people give Montana the edge over Marino because of his championships.
This guy went to an unbelievable 8 championships with two different teams.
you put way to much emphasis on his YPA...Josh Reed had a better YPA then Moulds and Price last year...does that mean he's better?...hell noOriginally posted by zachseau13
Andre Reed had more than twice as many balls thrown to him
951 vs. Warfield's 427
And his yards per catch is a fraction of Warfield's
A pedestrian 13.9 vs. a staggering 20.1
Reed is not even in the same league

The year the Dolphins went undefeated the same statement would have been true.
And yet, they had an extremely efficient passing game with a HOF QB and a HOF WR who was among the best to ever play the game
and I'm talking to a fan(you), who's never seen his team win a superbowlOriginally posted by FinFrenzy
Hey Zachseau13 your talking to a fan of a team that has never been...delete delete delete delete...won a superbowl :roflmao: :m83: :hi5:
once again, other people's opinions are zachseau's facts...Originally posted by zachseau13
Some more for you from Pro Football's 100 greatest players
"The numbers tell the story. Warfield's 427 career receptions netted 8,565 yards and an all-time record average of 20.1. His ratio of one touchdown per 5.0 catches ranks second all-time to Don Hutson's ratio of one TD per 4.9 receptions. Warfield was dangerous at all times and demanded constant double-team attention, which kept teams from stacking the line. But he was used more often as a blocker, a job the 6-0, 188-pounder handled with surprising efficiency."
So, his YPC is an all-time record and his TD's per catch is 2nd only to Don Huston
BTW, Reed did NOT make the list.
Are they "clods" too?
