Mueller's Draft History

So you mean Chambers, McMike, Welker, Bua, Pope etc... are not real talents...Spielman's mistakes were that he gave too much to acquire too little...Like the Aj Feely and Gordon trade, but in my opinion, he is as good as it gets to evaluate talents..

I think you are giving Welker (who we didn't even draft, or sign as a UDFA), Bua adn Pope a little too much credit at this point. Sure all contributed in some way for a 4-12 team....but let's see them become solid starters before we put them in the same sentence with Chambers and McMichael.

Please dont forget Vernon Carey.

Spielman was a good talent evaluator in latter rounds.... unfortunately he caved in early when making trades and made desperation trades.

Todd Wade, Chris Chambers, Micmike. Wanny brought in some Stud Players also.

 He was here for four years and you could only think of 3 players.

And Todd Wade is a bit of a stretch.

LMAO

Like someone said, 11 Pro Bowlers in 9 years.

Wanny + Spiel cannot come close.

Not to mention the success in trading bums for high picks, when Wanny and Speil were usually the ones dealing such picks for the bums.

He is about as reliable as the others

This is over years and how many drafts and teams? Not too amazing.

I live in Saint country and he was considered to be quite competent. He has drafted about as well as most other gms. It is not an exact science, and I think you will find bad examples across the board. Jimmy Johnson's drafting was not anything to write home about in specific rounds (namely the middle of the draft; Thomas the exception)

He took Anthony Simmons and could of had Rand Moss.

Same draft he took Todd Wiener in the 2nd and he could of had Hines Ward

He took Bulger in the 6th He could have taken Tom Brady

He got 2 1sts and a 4th for Ricky yeah look who he did the deal with. based off of that he could have got more.

Those are just some off of my head. I'm sure there is more if i did research.

That is some revisionist history right there....

Passing on Randy Moss was something EVERY (with the exception of the Vikings) team was prepared to do or did. I've grown weary of people saying so and so passed on Randy Moss so he is a terrible G.M....everyone did it.

32 teams...including the Patriots...passed on Tom Brady...at least 5 times.

"He could have gotten more then two firsts and a 4th for Ricky". Well, he got a 2nd and 2 firsts for Ricky. WHO THE HELL WOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM MORE? The guy ROBBED us. The 1st and 2nd was enough...getting the conditional pick (for very achievable statistics) was the kicker.

I'm not a Meuller fan but these are poor examples to disect his draft history.

1. My point on Ricky was he could have gotten more from US. we give up a 2nd rounder for a 3rd string Qb. Giving up only 2 1sts for a Top 5 RB is a hell of a deal for Wanny.

2. You can go back to any draft and only pick out the good players. i figured i would better players he could have had. i mean ALOT of people on this board didn't like Jimmy Johnson. but hell Surtain, Madison, JT, Z. Thomas he brought in the players.

I'm impressed with a lot of names on that list though and after reading more into in the other thread Mueller has been just about DEAD ON RIGHT when it comes to picking in the first rounds which is very good to hear.

OMG give me a break!

Hines Ward and Tom Brady became better than ANYONE thought they would and many people passed on Moss because of his attitude, not just the Seahawks.

You have to have better examples than that.
