My First Home Dolphins Game

Absolutely amazing experience! One of the greatest days of my life on Sunday!

First off, thank you to everyone who replied and dm'd with advice, it was a huge help and greatly appreciated!

We got to have a nice afternoon on the beach Saturday. Pelican Grand was a great place if anyone is looking in the future. Had dinner Saturday night at Padrino's. Got some croquettes, tostones, empanadas and arroz rellena. Everything was excellent as far as I know being from the middle of nowhere in Upstate NY.

Special shout out to nando03 for the invite to the FH tailgate. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and the food was great! Was nice to be able to talk about football surrounded by Dolphins fans rather than all these lame Bills fans up here! No one would accept any money for food and drinks so I'll be making a donation to the site in their honor!

I was torn between getting seats up top for a better view of game action and being closer to the field. Got a little impulsive again and ended up finding seast 5 rows from the field on the Dolphins sideline. It was awesome being that close to the players, but in the future I think I'd move up a bit because it was tough to see some of the action. Screens definitely helped quite a bit!

Headed towards the stadium around noon. Checked out the Marino statue, and the girlfriend ended up getting a whole new Dolphins outfit in the team store. 💰. The stadium is fantastic in person! Definitely surreal seeing a place you've seen your teams play in on TV for 30+ years! It felt like a dream at times. Sidenote: I've been listening to 790 on internet radio for nearly 20 years so it was crazy seeing all the road names that I hear on traffic reports that I hear more often than my own local news 🤣

The back to back Phillips sacks happened right in front of us! I was getting everyone around me to throw up The U and leading the noise from our section everytime our defense got to 3rd down. My girlfriend's favorite player is X and is always telling him to intercept the ball when we watch at home, so her getting to see him do it on our side of the field was amazing as well! And in case you missed it, we won!

After the game was a little dicey. Hung out in the stadium until they started ushering everyone out. We gotnoutside, checked out the perfect season statue and then my girlfriend realized she had left her phone either in the bathroom or in the cup holder by seats 🤦‍♂️. Thankfully, security let us go back in to check and the cleaners had found it in the cup holder. Dodged a bullet.

Took a good while after game end, maybe 2.5 hours to get a uber/left to confirm. Finally a taxi pulled up and we had him take us to Hard Rock casino.

Unfortunately, they don't allow spectators at the poker room there, so I didn't get to play cards for as long as I would've liked, but that place was great!

Did a little beach/pool time Monday before leaving for the airport. Watched some of the MNF game on the plane. Surprisingly, the landing in DC was worse than in Rochester. Had to circle around and try a second landing in DC because of "wind shear." Landed in Rochester just in time to see the Pats finish off the Bills to complete a perfect football weekend!

But man does it suck coming home to this:

Forgot to mention another highlight: There was this Giants fans directly behind us running his mouth the whole game that had absolutely NO IDEA what he was talking about. For example, a 4th down came up for the Giants around their own 40 yard line and he was like, "Alright, let's kick this field goal! Get 3 on the board!"

He made an early exit!

Sounds like someone started tailgating too early.

I got to go to a few MLB games this season in a couple different cities and it never failed. The most "knowledgeable" (in their heads) fans were generally sauced and got carried out of the stadium before the 7th inning stretch.
