My Open Letter To Ryan Tannehill

You act like people are having to look really hard for flaws in something like they see the Mona Lisa and are nitpicking. This team hasnt had a winning season in half a decade people have a right to feel how they want. I don't get your simplistic stance that if your tem doesn't win or add the playersu want you should just pack up and become a fan of another team if you don't like it. Any fan worth his salt doesn't like losing , to praise a team for not making the playoffs year after year is asnine. Lets quit acting like we are real Debbie downers and are nitpicking a constant playoff team and talking about how their backup left tackle isn't that good as they win division title after division title. I don't agree with the Tannehill hate and find the people that want to start Moore quite interesting but I understand their frustration.

:goodpost: Couldn't have said it better. I want this team to win as badly as all of you, and I root like hell for every player and coach the Dolphins have on the field each game. But the simple fact of the matter is that every year for as long as I can remember (except 2008) I have been frustrated and pissed off with the way the season went and ended. Granted we are only 3 games in, but the frustrations are already a plenty with this team. I too don't agree with all the Tannehill hate and vitriol. Is he playing at a level we need him to be at? No. Is he the sole reason for the offenses issues? Hell No! There is plenty of blame to go around for everyone on this team right now, starting with Joe Philbin and going right on down the line.

Like dlockz said, we are not nitpicking a winning team here. We are frustrated with a franchise that is barely able to be called mediocre, and are very tired of going though this same emotional rollercoaster season after season.

Hahahahaha that was actually the movie scene that popped in my head when I made the comment.

I'm a very positive fan based on my previous posts. I was actually being sarcastic since I have never seen something like that being done before except in movies.. lol

I know, and not really directed at you, even though I did use your post to reply to , just amazed how many people attacked the OP, just because he decided to send a upbeat letter to Tannehill. You would be surprised how much fan snail mail/email celebrities receive....insane.

Can someone write Philbin a letter to step down

Nice sentiment but unfortunately you're the fresh red meat for Dr Pavlov's personified pack of roaming droolers so steel yourself.

Dang. You need repped just for that one line.

:hclap:

I certainly never said that people had to heap praise on the team they cheer for, nor did I say it was a terrible thing to be critical of that team either. However, you as the fan hold the power over whether you root for your team. Losing sucks. I choose to try and see the positive in any situation in life, finding the negative and constantly complaining is not a way of life I choose to live. I am dedending Ryan Tannehill. You won't find me supporting Joe Philbin.

As for seeing every snap of Tannehill at A&M, I also saw every possible snap of Andrew Luck, RG3, Russell Wilson that year. The NFL Draft is an equal passion to me as are the Dolphins, last year I saw every possible snap I could of roughly 150 players. Not sure where that comes across as being a stalker. I don't see anyone calling TedSlimmJr a stalker for his fantastic work in the draft threads.

I try my best to be as knowledgeable about the game of football, if I have zero clue what I am talking about, and can't suggest alternatives, I am not sure why the hell I would open my mouth in the first place. But negativity tends to feed off negativity, and it certainly requires a great deal less intelligence to say what a guy CANT do than to say what a guy CAN do. all.

Thanks for the read. I hope Tennehenne is the right answer as well.

Who am I to judge you just because you sent a love letter to your favorite QB on your favorite team...and then posting it to 2 blogs is, well, ballsy so props for that....

Me I enjoy the roller coaster ride on this or any sports blog...when we lose we have people wanting everyone fired or benched and when we win we have people going over board on how good we are...then you have the special posts of those who think RT is better than Russel Wilson or thinks he's a young Tom Brady with better legs smh....its all in fun, the bottom line is its a 16 game schedule there will be ups and down and one thing I always try to say about RT hes young, green and still has time to get better, there is not many QB out there that haven't been benched or was close to being benched.....Parcels has a good saying about a QB, when a QB goes through a tough stretch and the coaches are mad at him, his teammates are mad at him and the fans are mad at him.....how he comes back and responds from that will let me know if he has it or not....he was talking about Tom Brady..he also said all good QB go through it...this is normal in the NFL ...This game this week is the first must win game for us this year and I think we will see a very good RT this week....

Good read, I too was part of the torches/pitchfork crowd but these are the times that try Dolphin fans souls. In retrospect, the coaches were more to blame for the KC loss than RT. I hope you are right OP and I for one appreciate your optimistic passionate letter.

My honest opinion is when you get to this level, it's time to take a break from sports for a little while.

"Thats cute, I remember when I had my first beer"

Hey, if you're gonna steal my stolen Steve Martin schtick, at least do it correctly.

It's passion. It's a little over the top, and yeah...mildly...unsettling...but it happens.

I'm not sure those of us who get into debates on a Dolphins message board for hours on end should be pointing fingers.

That ain't me. I'll be on in here in 10-15 minutes spurts if I'm engaged in a conversation, but hours? No way.

Kudos. "Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain but it takes character and self control to have understanding... "
