My thoughts after tonight

i actually dont think the thrid game is the "dress rehersal" i think that is made up. I think we are preparing for new england in practice and not showing a whole lot.

this is just another hate henne post. henne 10-13 1 td for a 148 qb rating. sorry. fail.

how many 3 and outs did henne have?

how many 3 and outs did henne have?

henne had a 12 play drive and a 3 play drive that resulted in the Marshall touchdown
all the other henne drives were 3 and outs i think..
i cant really fault henne when your running backs average 1.4 yards a carry it is hard to win..

Can't really fault the runningbacks either when your offensive line can't move ****.

Posting Henne's passing numbers isnt coming close to seeing the full picture. He decided to tuck and run at the goal line when he needed to be finding receivers there. That 10 points should have been 14 if he would have seen Bess open instead of trying to tuck and run when there wasn't even an opening this time.

I saw this team finish 31st in scoring last year playing exactly the way it did tonight, and a huge part of that is the QB's lack of ability to make plays in the red zone, resulting in us scoring 4 points less on good drives than we should. That's not good enough, especially when we know our defense isn't gonna contribute to the point scoring by generating picks.

If you seen the game you know that we couldve exposed that secondary. We didnt because its preseason and the line needs run blocking film. We couldve dismantled them easily. Bess had 2 catches c'mon man!!!

The whole OL concept changes with Long at left tackle....What the hell is so hard to understand? there is a reason these guys are the second best paid position after QB... They make a difference.... If you dont get that! We'll just have to agree to disagree...

I don't get that because there's no truth it. having Jake Long in the game doesn't mysteriously cause Carey and Columbo to not allow defenders in the backfield at will. It doesn't mysteriously cause them to be able to sustain blocks instead of letting their man disengage and make plays on run plays that are run away from them. Jake Long coming back has 0 impact on that disaster known as the right side of our O-Line.

You're such a hater man, it is ridiculous. You think Bess was open? Maybe, but he had pressure coming from all around and it would have taken a bullet pass to get it to him, the defender was on top of him. He didn't have faith in his OLine to stand in the pocket any longer, especially in a goalline situation, and if you watched the game, you could see why. By the time Hartline broke open, Henne was already moving to evade pressure.

I laugh at you people who continously wanna put every QB on this "Marino" pedastool, but yet continue to ignore the obvious progresses of your current QB. You didn't put any blame on the OLine, you called out "Henne" for the lack of ability to make plays in the redzone . . . hell pretty much for our offensive ineffectiveness, despite a running game that had 17 carries for 22 yards and you just breeze over the fact that our defense can't catch a pick. Agenda much?

He clearly outplayed Freeman, a rising star in the league (and Freeman had holes for his running game and protection), yet Henne isn't good enough . . . . please.

yeah henne could have done better but kdawg is correct henne outplayed freeman
no henne bashing from me this week :p the o-line let him down..
Matt Moore didn't look that great either he was running for his life..

Around 90% of this review is completely false and untrue.

Sorry, one game does not rectify two bad games. He still shows little pocket presnece as seen in his first sack. On the Reggie screen, he threw a bullett to reggie. The pass did not need to be thrown that hard. I was impressed when he called the one audible into shotgun, and then instead of throwing to a wide open Bess in the endzone he ran it for a 3 yard gain and we ended up kicking a FG... That tells me he didnt know the play he was audibling into

Both Murtha and Columbo got beat on the first sack, with Henne first being hit after his 2nd drop back step. That's all on the o-line. The screen to Bush was not a bullet at all. It was thrown softly, and went right through Bush's hands. There is no excuse from Bush at all on that one. And Bess was triple covered on the endzone play. It was Hartline that was open in the endzone. But, he came open late, after Henne had been flushed from the pocket by the pass rush. It is pretty crazy to be critical of Henne on a night when he was 10 for 13, all 3 incompletions should have been caught. And how about the second play of the game? On a 2nd and long, with a pass rush right on him, he threw a perfect touch pass to Fasano for 22 yards, dropped over the LB and in front of the safeties.

You mention Pouncey's meanness, but fail to mention that he got totally whipped by Frank Okam on two short yardage running plays.

And you said Odrick didn't show anything? He had a very good game, especially with his pass rush.

No kidding. For example the throw to Gates on the sideline. It was about a 30 yard bullet throw. A pass like that needs some velocity. Gates toughed it but it went incomplete.. Although whe it hits your hands you catch it!. The Bush screen that was dropped also shoulda had some velocity. no need to throws a 5 yard bullet pass

This makes zero sense.

Henne didn't need more "Air" on his pass to Gates. The safety was closing in and he put right where it needed to be, Gates dropped it.

all I have read on here for weeks is "it all depends on how Henne plays"...."Henne Henne Henne". Well he has made all that a moot point and now there is some other reason we suck?
This preseason game is NOT a clue as to how we will play in the regular season.

The Pats only scored 10 against the LIONS.....it's a preseason game! Relax!!!!.
