NBA FINALS THREAD: Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks

This really doesn't matter in the game but when Shaq said last year "It's like i'm playing like i'm Erick Dampier..." I thought that was pretty funny.

not if the is guarding him from past the free throw line....dirk could beat him off the dribble. and wat does the time have to do with anything:confused:

I was past that conversation...:sidelol:

The Heat will guard Dirk accordingly.Don't count Zo out though, he may surprise you.

What's funny is, nobody, and I do mean, NOBODY 10 or 15 years ago, no one would of thought that these two teams would be in the Finals. And now here we are: Two teams that made it to the NBA Finals for the first time in history.

Of course, I'm rooting for the Heats all the way. But I hate for this series to end up like the Miami vs. Detroit series.:shakeno:

If anybody could predict a team will be good in ten or fifteen years I bet they could make alot of money if they put some cash on it right now.

terry is gonna dominate jason williams.

How do you figure?

We just played against Billups and gave him hell (for the majority of the series)...who the hell is jason terry?

Notice I said "we" as in the team...

The Heat's defense is predicated on team defense.

Terry will find a ton of shots rejected into the 4th row when ZO and SHAQ is in there.

All of terry's biggest games have been helped with his drives to the basket.

The Heat might be the best interior defensive team in the league.

As for Dirk....stopping him is keeping him to 25 points or so...you "stop him" by denying him his spots on the floor. Posey will be key to this. James Posey is playing like a mad man out there. He has reminded me of the best of Bruce Bowen in these playoffs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see alot of double teams on Dirk when Terry and Howard go to the bench....You can let Griffin, Stackhouse, Daniels and Harris shoot outside shots till the cows come home.

This should be a great matchup and I'm looking foward to it. I hate the Mavs with all of my heart because they are in the Rockets division and I don't want another rival team to win in like the Spurs did last year. The city of Miami needs a championship and hopefully the Heat can bring one home and stomp the **** outta the Mavs. I say the Heat gets it in game 7.

Don't think so. JWill struggles with bigger PGs that can back him down and post him up (which is why he struggled defensively against both Kidd and Billups). Williams is every bit as quick as Terry, and can drive to the basket if he wants to (throughout the Detroit series, he could drive pass Billups and Hunter).

I'm not going to predict a winner though. Too tough. It depends on who is going to step up and be the 3rd and 4th options for both team and how much they contribute.

Oh yeah, Howard is a better defender than Rip BY FAR. Rip isn't that good for one. Prince normally plays the best swingman the other team has anyways. Rip gets away with a lot of jersey pulling and pushing. He also has 3 above average defenders playing beside him.

I think anyone who predicts this series in under 6(proably anything other then 7) needs to take off their homer glasses
