NBA FINALS THREAD: Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks

Well, it's not like Wade has been stupendous in clinching games. Last year against the Pistons, he was hurt and was a non-factor. In another clinching game this year, game 5 vs. the Pistons, he was nothing special as the Heat lost. In game 6 against Detroit he again was nothing special (albeit sick), and basically watched with everyone else as the Pistons imploded into a horrendous shooting team.

All the Wade lovers want to put him on a level he hasn't reached yet. If he wins the Finals, then and only then will he have arrived.

last yr wade was a factor in game 7....and the man was in enormaous pain.....if u cant see what this guy has done then u are completely ignorant....

to be considered great he needs to win a few but the guy is the best player on the court every time he steps foot on it.....detroit had no answer for him....a team that studies him much more than dallas......i think wade will continue his offensive explosion

the question for the heat is how effective will our defense be??? and how do we play Dirk??? we figure those out and we win in 6

Antoine Walker will defend Dirk...by denying him the ball, just like he did to Rasheed Wallace *even though Rasheed is nowhere near the player Dirk is*

i hope ur wrong.....i rather have udonis on him

they do this in case of injuries....guys can get healthy now

Not to mention the guys need some rest...they want both teams playing fresh and at 100%

No excuses if you lose

Udonis will not be able to stay with Dirk off the dribble...he will go for 30+ every game with Udonis on him

Ignore it. I've never taken one of his posts having to do with Dwyane Wade seriously; the guy is obviously a hater. D-Wade is a great player - period. He's a top 5, to me top 3 player in this league - no questions about it. He's commenting on last year's Game 7, when Dwyane Wade was told by team doctors NOT to take the floor, and by taking the floor, he was risking his CAREER at only 23-years old. He calls Wade a "non factor" in Game 5 this year where Wade went 11/20 for 23 points. Then, he calls the hospitalized Wade a nonfactor in the closing Game 6, where even sick - he managers to drop 14 points & 10 assists while not forcing anything at all, hurting his team. If Steve Nash scores 14 points and dishes out his normal 10 dimes and his team wins, then he's a hero. :rolleyes2

Forget that Dirk has a few inches on Antoine......Antoine did a great job making Rasheed work to get the ball in his hands, and I expect he would do the same to Dirk

There would be a parade for Nash, and he would be the greatest player of all time if that happend

In Game 5 he went 23-4-3 with 3 blocks, 2 steals and shot 55%. In Detroit. And yes, that was considered a subpar game.

In Game 6, he went 14-10-4 with a block and a steal. And he was UNGUARDABLE late in the 3rd putting the game away. Absolute MONEY. Not bad for a guy still suffering from the flu.

Not sure what else he could do in Game 6. Good teams step up when their star is struggling and/or can't go. Not sure how that's an indictment of Wade's ability. He's a 4th quarter player.

Did you see Wade's 2004 performance against Indiana in that clinching game?? Boy was unstoppable.

I was simply rebutting conjecture with fact. FinNasty insinuated that in a game 7 ( a series clincher) of the Finals, Wade would be unstoppable. I merely pointed out that in clinching games, particularly in the last two Eastern Conference Finals, Wade has been unspectacular for whatever reason.

I am not indicting Wade's ability, simply pointing out that in clinching games his numbers have been below his season average. It has happened 3 times in a row in the Eastern Conference Championships. Simply a fact.

and clumsy antoine will?? i dont think we have an answer for him yet...maybe having posey on him with help will be the solution....i love how posey defends

i think its called bad luck...the man has been hurt or in the hospital......u cant call him a choke artist for not playing at 100%...lebron had subpar games all series vs detroit with no excuses...detroit had no answer for wade.....this 1st championship will be the beginning of his jordan like career

i was gonna end it there bu i cant cause i have 666 posts....thats bad luck
