New details emerge, don't see how Marshall isn't suspended

NFL would risk a huge PR hit as well as possible legal action by suspending Marshall. Commish may meet with Brandon, but I doubt anything comes out of it other than the commish getting a handle on the disease and treatment, and telling him to keep his **** together.

Forensic science is a lot more advanced than ANY of you think. A good forensic medical expert can take a look at MARSHALL's wound and tell you EXACTLY who did what to whom, and how. The only reason why Mrs. M isn't facing "15-25" as a guest of the Peolple of the State of Florida is that MARSHALL himself is reluctant to go foward w/it. SHE could claim "self-defense" from now until Doomsday for all the good it would do her. And the State of Florida is NOT BOUND by MARSHALL's wishes. It could FORCE him to testify, and if he played fast and loose, well...Perjury and Obstruction of Justice are both felonies. BUT, if it's OK w/the victim--legitimately OK--then the State might "decline to prosecute"...FOR NOW. Still, Mrs. Marshall's future conduct better resemble MOTHER THERESA's...OR ELSE. She's on "thin ice" right now.

Well they arrested her right away. so maybe forensic science had something to do with charges being dropped. They dont need Marshall to press charges because in these cases its not up to Marshall. If everything was so clearcut Im sure they would have pressed ahead with charges. You may remember marshall never wanted to press charges in the first place
 
I thought the NFL conduct policy didn't apply during the lock-out. If so, I don't see how any player can be suspended by the league.

But seriously people, have you gone nuts??....where is the proof that Marshall even broke the law? He and his wife had some kind of altercaton, but if nobody got charged and Marshall and his wife are living together in peace right now, than the NFL should keep it's nose out of his personal business. It basically is a he said/she said thing. This talk that he will be suspended, possibly for the entire year, is crap.

Isn't it the law that a person cannot testify against their spouse???? I believe it is called Spousal Privelege. If a third party wasn't there at the altercation, and both parties want their communication (argument) to be kept confidential, than they cannot force Marshall to testify against his wife.

And yet, you appear to be rooting for one of the best players on our team to be suspended. Not sure how that equals "winning season".

You are right about one thing, that youve stated over and over and over again, that Goodell doesn't need an arrest to suspend anyone.

That being said, the commissioner has shown he will do anything for positive public relationship news and he is currently coming off of a very ugly lockout where he was repeatedly booed by the people he so desperately needs. Keep in mind, after the first rape charge Goodell supported Big Ben. After Michael Vick was accused of dog killings, Goodell publically supported him until he learned Vick was lying. Hell, part of Vicks suspension was because he lied to the commissioner. Goodell has also supported Ricky Williams and his multiple come back attempts.
Marshall hasn't been charged with anything, because it appears he didnt do anything, he publically announced he has a disorder and is seeking help. Marshall has always been a guy who does want to do the right thing but seems to self-destruct(and now we know why). Id put all my money on Goodell embracing Marshall's troubles and just sitting down to talk to him about what he could do to help.

Another thing people need to keep in mind is that Goodell has bigger fish to fry. Aqib Talib, Kenny Britt, and a few others repeatedly caused trouble during the lockout. He has to keep the peace with the players union(a relationship thats already strained) while also maintaining control over those types of behaviors. Not to mention the inevitable standoff with James Harrison, who is doing everything he can to staredown Goodell. In a very literal way, Goodell can't afford to throw the book at the small stuff, who also happens to be trying to get better instead of trying to continue committing crimes, while the big stuff is dangling over his neck.

The marital confidences privilege (or marital communications privilege) is a form of privileged communication protecting the contents of confidential communications between a married couple. This privilege applies in civil and criminal cases. When applied, a court may not compel one spouse to testify against the other concerning confidential communications made during marriage.

However, Goodell got the tape and is destroying it.


Now he only owes 30 other teams.
