NEWS: Dolphins Sign Tailback Chatman

Dude Chatman was awesome last year. Why in the world did the Chargers get rid of him?!?! I know they really like that super fast guy they have now Michael Turner (he was awesome for me on Madden 2005 too lol) but still man Chatman was really good. That is weird.

Then again this is the team that released Wes Welker so I mean, either they've got a bevy of talent or they aren't interested in keeping talented skill position backups with return abilities.

SD also has Darren Sproles...just as Saban said....when things are close, you go with the younger guys (meaning cheaper also)

He must have been the mystery man wearing #35. I tell you what though, Chatman is a real deal player. I like him better than ALL of our running back backups, even Sammy Morris. He was one of those players that was on my list of "guys i'd like to have on my team but will probably never be looking for work" list. Another one for now is Dave Ragone, lol.

Ragone had 6 completions for 172 yards against Tampa

I think maybe this means the end for Morris. Maybe the Eagles were persistant enough to give us something relatively decent for him.

damn i like this pick up does anyone have any insight on this kid like his stats and stuff his draft report maybe?

Well, I like him better than Minor and Gordon, but I don't know if I put him in front of Morris. Morris can do it all. He ran for over four ypc last season, can play fullback and excels on special teams. Chatman can do all that but Morris is one of my personal favorites...plus, Sammy has a cool first name. :D

I hope this means there's a deal almost done and not players just getting released outright.

Jesse is faster though

Can this possibly mean that Ricky Williams stay here in Miami will be short lived???? The latest coment from Ricky Williams how he said "He didn't miss football before, and he won't miss it now" CANNOT sit well with the coach. You have to WANT TO PLAY to be succesful. I think Saban will try to get whatever he can For RW (maybe not now, or even this season, but he in no way counts on This guy to be around for any serious length of time

NO! Take it back! Gordon and Minor fine, Morris? I would like to keep. Really, Morris has more value than the other two, but I think he has more value to us than a alte round pick. Think about this though, after week 5, our running back corps will be as follows:

Ricky Williams
Ronnie Brown
Sammy Morris
Jesse Chatman

All four of those guys can put a clubbering on a defender and most likely will.

This doesn't have an effect on Ricky. We proved we're not counting on Ricky when we drafted Ronnie. Why would Saban get rid of Ricky when he's playing for peanuts? If Ricky wants to quit then let him, it won't matter.

I think this means we might be trading Sammy Morris, unfortunately. He's too skilled of a back to just pick up for ****s and giggles.

FYI...Chatman also lead the Chargers in Special Teams tackles last season.

while I expect the same thing (already having a trade in the works)....if we don't, nobody's going to now that they know the team had got to lose some RB weight.

I do have a feeling though that some, like a Thompson, will just be released. Perhaps that's just a residual effect from the last 4-5 years where we didn't really parlay players into late round draft picks.
