damn dude is he reallly that good to play over r.brown how good is this kid i do know he was playing behind the best rb in football in l.t.
 
I really like Chatman. He's a big and fast guy. He's also really strong and can run with guys on him. I'm excited about this though I'm not sure how much time he'll get.
 
Jesse Chatman is an awesome pickup!!!! This guy tore it up in preseason for the last 2 years for the Chargers only to be barely used during the regular season since Lt was there. Even in limited duty, his yards per carry were great. He rushed for over 2,000 yards as a senior at Eastern Washington in college. He is a very as stumpy, shifty, runner and has tremendous pro potential. The reason the Chargers released him was he was slow to recover from a foot injury and his rehab efforts were not to the liking of the Chargers so they released him. Plus they drafted Michael Turner last year another squatty guy with sub 4.4 speed and he's had a great preseason. Chatman's does not have breakaway speed so to make a kick returner... I don't know, but he's definitely an upgrade over Minor, Morris or Gordon as a running back. I hope he sticks.

he is NOT fast, and has little burst... what he IS is a little bowling ball who has strong balance, decent tackle breaking ability and always falls forward... run him outside and you'll be looking at 2nd & 9 at best.... he is also a poor receiver...

i'll still take him over Gordon or Morris, however...

and for the guy who says Minor "blows"... show some respect... Travis Minor has been a loyal and versatile Dolphin.... and a fine third-down back for the money... cut him some slack...
 
When can he be ready to play? Is it possible he will see time as early as our first game?
 
I would think this guy is pissed we took him. If I was this kid, I would want a team like the eagles with a great O line, superbowl bound and in need of a RB! If he is as good as some say, maybe this means more than just Gordon going who is already cut , Morris and Minor being expendable.

What is Nick thinking here?

Maybe trying to push the other two.
 
Maybe thinking that Ricky wont be here next year. How old is this kid? Maybe he is looking at Ronnie's backup for next season already. I would like to keep Ricky myself, I don't think we can get fair trade value for him, but you don't know when he is gonna wig out again.

You would have to think the Eagles are pissed here. If this kid is that good, IM sure they had their eye on him and IM pretty sure the reason we got first dibs at him was because of our record. So in a strange way, we get a little shot back at them for Feeley.

The Eagles will probably pick up Gordon without having to give up a pick.
 
Ok I know they will pickup gordon but, we just signed a RB with a CROWDED backfield. So we are at the same number we were before Gordon got cut. This tells me Saban thinks this kid is as good as some of the posters and the Eagles are stuck with our trash.

It would seem Saban had no idea this kid was gonna get cut. We have Williams, Brown, Morris, Gordon and Minor. Well we had Gordon, thats quiet a few backs. I have respect for Minor also, as the other poster mentioned but I think Morris is another RB who could be plugged into a team like the Eagles and be a 1000 yard back.

If this kid is better than Morris? We stole a good RB who is only 26 years old and might be the 3rd head this season. If its true what you guys say about him, IM not to familar with him
Williams, Brown and Chattman if he is what is being said, is one hell of a backfield.
 
I think Hudson Houcks' fingerprints are all over this one. It was his line that opened holes for Chatman to run through so he really knows the player well.
