NFL Coaching Database

Why is Fisher in the succesful coach category, and Billick is not?

Fisher's career winning % is .542, with 6 winning seasons out of 16.5 seasons total.

Billick's career winning % is .556, with 5 winning seasons out of 9 total. Plus he has a super bowl ring.

If I had to interview 5 (leaving out those I didn't think would take the job, like Gruden, Cowher, etc) , I'd interview the following:

1. Billick
2. Sherman
3. Carmichael
4. Chudzinski
5. Zimmer

Bowles will get an interview to satisfy the Rooney Rule. Hell, the meeting where they tell him he's not getting the job could go long and they could try to make that count.

imo i just dont think we go after just anybody as ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL those names are mentioned ,imo fisher gruden ,or cowher will be the next coach in miami , as Ross has said NOT JUST ANY COACH WILL DO AND HE SAID OUT OF HIS OWN MOUTH THAT HE WANTED SOMEONE THAT HAS PROVEN( IN THE NFL ) IN THE NFL AND 90% OF ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL THESE COACHES BEING NAME NEVER DONE SQUAT (IN THE NFL )THERES THAT WORD AGAIN ( IN THE NFL) PEOPLE CAN SPECTULATE ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL THEY WANT BUT IN THE END ROSS WILL GET ONE OF THE BIG 3 AND EVEN IF IT TAKES A KINGS RANSOM I SEE HIM PULLING THE TRIGGER... THANX

They don't want to work with Ireland. Any of those guys will want full control, or input in choosing a gm at the least.

Can someone give the positives and negatives on Tony Dungy (if he was interested). Seems like and intriuging(sp?) idea; he built a Super Bowl team in Tampa without an elite QB (one of our deficiencies) and won one in Indy with and elite QB. Reminds me of Shula; able to adapt.

Dungy won't be interested. He's done coaching, likely for good. If he did come back, I could see him returning to the Colts for a year or two to help clean up the mess his successor has made. I think the problem with Dungy is that he's not a great strategizer. He needs assistants who are very astute. However, he is a great motivator. His teams rarely give up on him or collapse. His players like him. He's very nearly the opposite of Gruden, who is an X's and O's kind of guy.

Take a look at the list...some possible DC's in the mix as well.

Eric Mangini, Jack Del Rio, Herm Edwards...

Mangini would really interest me as DC. 3-4 guy. Knows the division. Smart. Does well vs. Tom Brady.
