...and he is what he is... because of his dad's behavior and tweets. The teams passed on Sheduer because of who he is as a person and player. Not because his dad tweets.
I agree with this assessment. I think the coverage looks a lot better when we are winning at the line of scrimmage and there is just too much quality value at IOL in round 2 for us to take the chance on a Miles Frazier falling to 98 or rely on a trade up to get back into a range where we could land one. There will be better DB/DL available than IOL at 98. That is close to 100% certain given where the class is deep and where it is shallow. There were already 3 IOL drafted in the 1st round; kind of hard to make the old “not a premium position” argument. There are 65 picks before our 3rd pick and only 5-8 OT/OG with day 2 grades left.
I’m not advocating we “reach” for OL at 48 (although there are still 2-3 guys left worth that pick). I’m just making the point if we go DB like Amos at 48 there is an exceptionally high chance Eichenberg is our week 1 starting LG.
Personally speaking I’d rather throw Bonner, Duck and Kohou to the wolves and go OL/DL with our next 2 picks. We can’t fill all our needs either way; might as well start building the roster inside -> out first.
I’d be shocked if the Texans didn’t snipe someone on our short list for OL at 34, and Ersery fits their profile for OT.The Texans will probably take him at 34. He is the best OL available and thats a huge need for them.
Grant’s quickness also translates well to the 5 technique. While I’d rather go a different direction than doubling down at DL with pick 48 I have to admit that would make our front 7 dangerous and exciting.Collins could play the 5 tech a bit even at that weight, it would be one hell of a run defense.
I phucked up fellas. I forget about Williams. This kid could very well be there at #48. He's ranked at #54 on Jeremiah's list. I love the kid.
Absolutely, he is a LT and they need one.I’d be shocked if the Texans didn’t snipe someone on our short list for OL at 34, and Ersery fits their profile for OT.
I was pretty shocked by that too. They must have a lot of confidence in the depth at that position in this draft.Absolutely, he is a LT and they need one.
I am surprised they traded down and passed on Conerly or Simmons.
If there’s an early run on IOL prospects today I don’t mind reaching for a guy like him. He definitely showcases the mean streak we need to give our line a little more oomph, but there are players I would love to see available at 48 before him.I’m on the fence digging deeper currently trying to convince myself lol had him more early 3rd value. Mid 2nd may be rich but it is a need. Thing that’s killing me is there’s a lot of talent that I didn’t think would be there. Have to see who’s available just don’t want to be in a situation with say like will johnson or Emmanwori, guys expected to be top 20 guys available at 48 and have to reach for a need.
Would love it but doubt he is still there.
