NFL DRAFT & RUMORS MEGATHREAD

Have I ever said I want Miami to draft Will Johnson? I would stay clear of Johnson. There are just too many red flags at this point. You take a shot at Grier alluding to the fact that he takes a lot of risks on injured players, and then you are calling for him to give up draft assets to move up to take a player that has injury concerns. You don't think that's being a bit ridiculous?

Yup, Turf toe for a DB compared to unknown medical concerns for a DT. Sure soooooo ridiculous

I ask again. What are the medical concerns for Harmon? Do you know? When you figure it out then you can actually discuss whether using a 13th overall on a DB with TURF TOE (you know what that is right?and how it would effect a DB?) is the same as moving up from 48 in the 2nd for a DT with unknown medical concerns.

Until we find out what the concerns are and if they would effect Harmon at his position the same way FREAKING TURF TOE effects a DB, then Harmon is absolutely worth trading up for in the 2nd and it's not even comparable what youre trying to do.

Like I said you're just trying to be an a$$ and do the same thing with me you were doing with Zabel the last few weeks.

I don’t see any reason not to play w/ storm duck this year. If he’s falling on his face in camp can always sign a rasul Douglas type in TC. I liked what I saw from duck last year.
I'm all for drafting lots of beef on the hoof, even if the starting CBs are Duck, Cam, and/or Bonner.

Banks would be a glove fit for Miami’s scheme as a guard. Whether Miami would want to spend that high a pick on a guard is a different discussion.
He would not be just a guard. He'd be LT insurance. If Paul isn't cutting it after a year or two, move Banks outside.

RAS is skewed for banks as it’s grading him as an OT and anything below 6-6 gets dinged. Banks is on the shorter side for a tackle so he received a 4.25 grade in that area.

Eich’s issue isn’t athleticism though, it’s short arms with small hands and the balance of if Mike Gesicki and a new born baby deer had a kid. Banks doesn’t have balance issues, has bigger hands and longer arms. His wingspan is also almost 6 inches wider than Eich’s as well.
Some fans lend far too much credence to RAS scores.

With the injury news that broke for both Harmon and Johnson, does it cause Miami to pivot and take Zabel at #13? He'd certainly fill a need and has been linked to Miami since the Senior Bowl practices. My guess he's the new odds on favorite to be selected by the Dolphins at #13.

Baldy likes Zabel
Duke Manyweather likes Zabel.
Any common fan who does not like Zabel should reconsider their ability to spot a talented player.

Secondary in round 1 = Automatic F

Griers gonna take Barron the slot Corner, Johnson the slow, injury concern Corner or another Saftey who won't effect but maybe one game all season.

It just seems obvious only 3 days out. What ever will make the least impact for the team, that's what Grier will do.

Draftnetworks new mock…Rico don’t read it

13. Miami Dolphins
Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

Jahdae Barron is the ultimate chess piece for a modern NFL defense. His elite football IQ, natural instincts, and feel for spacing make him a perfect fit as a roaming defender at the next level. While he may not project as a traditional outside corner, that’s not where his value lies. Barron thrives in hybrid roles—whether it’s nickel, dime, or rotating down as a safety. He processes quickly, tackles with urgency, and consistently finds himself around the football. For a Dolphins defense in need of secondary reinforcements, Barron brings immediate versatility and long-term reliability. He’s the kind of player you build sub-packages around.

Do you really think a player like Harmon would be slipping into the second round if teams didn't know and have medical concerns? You are really taking this personal.

I don't see Banks as being a great tackle, but sure, he can get you through if you were forced to play him there.

This question from McShays mailbag, seems the top 3 will be gone before we pick so its either stay at 13 and grab the next best or trade down a bit, but there might be a run..we could see 6 or 7 OL in the first 20 picks

Hi Todd! If the Falcons decide to stick and pick at 15, do you think they’d be better off drafting the best offensive tackle available and attacking their defensive line needs in the second round, given the depth at those positions compared to this draft’s scarcity at offensive tackle? Or would they be better off taking the best defensive lineman available at 15?

I like where your head’s at, Kyle. I think you have a clear understanding of the importance of not looking at the first round in a vacuum and thinking about the combination of first- and second-rounders. This is a topic on the minds of a lot of GMs, and it’s why I think the offensive tackles will go off the board sooner than grades might indicate.
Atlanta has the second-fewest picks (five) in the draft, so Terry Fontenot should consider any opportunity to move back. I’m starting to get the sense that Will Campbell, Armand Membou, and Kelvin Banks Jr. will be gone in the first 13 picks, if not a little earlier. That creates a tricky predicament for Atlanta. Josh Simmons is up next, and he’s the most talented of the group, but there are some real maturity questions.

I don’t agree Rico if Barron is there.

The dt class is so deep and Barron is an excellent clean prospect.

Stack your board according to having three top 100 picks with three positions to fill.
