NFL DRAFT & RUMORS MEGATHREAD

I just can't get behind doing the same thing again, this team has prioritized the secondary over any postion group for so long, I just want to change the philosophy.

I also think Barron is strictly a slot corner, he might be a great slot corner but at 13 I'd want a boundary.
I agree. I don't care who the CB is if we take him, as long as it is not in rd.'s 1, or 2.

"Class, listen up. BUILD THE TRENCHES 1st! Whoever does not get that, please come up the chalkboard and write it down 100 times!"

A curveball could be the 49ers taking Sanders at 11, then trading Purdy.

If I was them thats what I would do.

Upgrade and stay cheap at QB.
I doubt any other team is going to trade for Purdy and give him the huge contract extension he is looking for. A lot of teams probably view him as a system QB.

There are teams desperate for QB's they would be willing to trade something for Purdy. Maybe a 3rd?

Purdy is on the final year of his rookie contract. He has no leverage. What is he going to do, sit out?

The 49ers seem to be in a similar position as us in terms of a so called soft rebuild.

Why give Purdy a ridiculous contract which essentially stunts your celling like we did with Tua?

Simply draft Sanders at 11 and have him on the cheap for the next 4 years and move on.

I don't think Kelvin Banks makes it to #13.

At least one of Barron/Johnson should be there at #13.

Both Harmon/Grant will be there at #13.

Starks/Emmanwori will be there at #13.

Those are the 4 big needs for Miami.

My favorite player of that group is Derrick Harmon. He is who I would go with at #13.

But the CB need is just as pressing as DT and the CB class is not nearly as deep in this Draft so the smart play is probably Johnson/Barron at #13 and go DT on Day 2 and Day 3.

The calculus is would you rather have Harmon and AZ Thomas/Trey Amos in R2 or Will Johnson and Darius Alexander/Alfred Collins in R2?I think I prefer option #2 slightly.

I don't think you can wait util R3 to find a CB, they are going to need to Draft a starting CB this weekend so while S might be better value at #48 (Watts/Winston)they almost have to take a CB in R1 or R2.

But I really want to add Harmon and then a NT type later.

All this being said IF Banks makes it to #13 he would be my pick. Not to mention Membou or Campbell falling for some reason. The Defense is going to be in transition this year with a ton of new, young guys in the secondary and inside DL, having a solid OL would help offset any struggles the Defense goes through.

So my heart says Harmon but my brain says OL(if possible)or CB at #13.

I would rather have Dart than Sanders.

There are also some interesting QBs that one could have as well if they wanted to spend a little time on them. Milroe, Howard and Shough all have some skills.
