NFL DRAFT & RUMORS MEGATHREAD

agree with Hoops, you can win games with a talent, didn’t say Qb yet, I said the talent of a Jalen Milroe

you build a serious run game with a good oline with an element of speed with Achane to run a full rpo system

You build a bad ass defense.

Milroe can throw a football, he’s not that accurate but when you are running an rpo system that requires about a read per play then your accentuating the strengths of this qb.

Then you add the most explosive runner since Mike Vick and you can beat teams with a ball control heavy run game including the qb getting 15 runs a game, you can win a lot of games

The risk is the pounding with that style and can he survive

His physique totally checks out, he’s unreal.

I’m done with the pocket qb, call
Me when the next Tom Brady is in college

Not to give Grier too much credit, lol, but it was probably his idea. Didn't want to be stuck having to take a 1st round CB with his job on the line. Or so I'd like to think anyway.
I don't understand your point. My point is that Miami will trade Ramsey before this season starts, probably during the upcoming draft, but they will not be getting any picks in this year's draft. It will be future picks. I doubt Grier would suggest that. He might not even be here after this season.

There are always issues that we fans are unaware.

I never get too sold on any one way of drafting or signing because I am really conscious of the fact that the pros have the medical and police reports that we don't.

We see someone plunge 2 plus rounds every year... and then the truth usually comes out.
I was listening to this podcast because I like Broaddus - a former scout for Dallas and GB, I think - but he is saying the same things about the DTs Collins and Harmon - about minute 14 in the attached...we are not privy to the more confidential reports...he is saying that if what he is hearing is true they might drop a bit into mid rounds...

I was essentially agreeing with you, but suggesting that Grier is trying to manipulate the situation so that Ramsey has to play for us this season. I think he knows a 1st round CB is career suicide. But yeah, it makes sense from Snead's perspective to give future picks.

why are you trying to talk yourself, or us, into a bad Alabama QB? Milroe stinks and he's not going to figure stuff out at a higher level, he's not accurate and makes bad decisions. Milroe is not Hurts or Lamar and any team that takes him before the 5th round is nuts. He can't play.

we already have a mediocre Alabama QB we have to get through to move onto a better pocket, yes pocket passer with better arm strength and some athleticism.

There's no shot Milroe is going to become an elite QB and to twist yourself into knots trying to compensate for a deficient QB is a senseless exercise.

It’s just a thought, we’re not gonna do it but it normal years I would have a no problem using a 2nd rounder on a guy that can be a dual threat m, cause I’ve wanted that since the spawn of the wildcat

I don't think Ramsey is playing for the Dolphins this year.

Milroe will get his GM fired, wherever he’s drafted. That’s his best attribute for Miami

PFF latest mock…totally good with this, just disagree that they have him taking over for Armstead at tackle instead of kicking inside to guard, I want to see what Paul can do at LT

13. MIAMI DOLPHINS: T KELVIN BANKS JR., TEXAS

The Dolphins have a wealth of weapons but need help on the offensive line. Banks boasts the requisite size and excellent tape. He brings power in the running game and good movement skills in pass protection, as he notably earned an 89.9 PFF pass-blocking grade last season. With Terron Armstead retiring, Banks provides assurance for the Dolphins at the tackle position.

PFN 3 round mock..after McShay reporting we like Banks at 13 hmmm…again though for guard not tackle what is it with everyone overlooking Patrick Paul.

13) Miami Dolphins

Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas

The Miami Dolphins are in need of a left tackle after Terron Armstead’s retirement. Kelvin Banks Jr. has played almost 2,800 snaps at left tackle for the University of Texas, where his team averaged a time to throw of 2.6 seconds or less, ranking in the top 35 (of 155) twice and 14th in the other year.

This should suit him well for the fast-paced Miami offense that is notorious for its quick, timing-based offense. Banks ranked fifth among all FBS offensive tackles in pressures per pass blocking snap allowed. If you look at snaps quicker than 2.42 seconds (Miami’s time to throw under Tua Tagovailoa), he still ranks 14th, allowing just two pressures among 248 of such snaps.

98) Miami Dolphins
Billy Bowman, S, Oklahoma

Ummm. If Miami is looking to replace LT, then Simmons is the way to go.

But WTF, Paul was not good last year, but give the guy a shot. Banks makes more sense as he can start at LG, then move to LT if needed

But again, if they are already moving on from Paul, then I'm looking at Simmons not Banks.

Unless they think that big beast Paul can play LG
