NFL DRAFT & RUMORS MEGATHREAD

Ok. You know.
Good compared to what? To the garbage men and insurance sales men Grier has rolled out on the field? Yea he looks good compared to them. But compared to actual good olinemen around the league, no he's below average.

There are stats that prove this is true.

When Healthy, Austin Jackson is a top 10 Right Tackle.
Dude how can you say such a thing? Hes a bad pass blocker. In run blocking, sure I'll give you that, but overall, I totally disagree wholeheartedly. PFF had him ranked 76th last year, that means he's worse than 12 backup Tackles around the league according to their metrics.

Like I said, when healthy. He wasn't healthy at all last year. He wasn't playing 100% when he did play. And it showed. Although Miami's running game was 40-50 yards better when he played. His pass blocking was affected by his nagging injury that eventuality sidelined him.

I'm not going to **** on the guy because of PFF scores, when it doesn't take into account injuries. As for Eichenberg, we'll he's a different story. The guy just sucks.

Well what about his first 3 seasons where he was the worst starting Tackle in the entire NFL, He got in shape in his contract year and played average, then last year, injury or not, he wasn't anywhere close to top 10.

Being a top 10 tackle, your talking Armstead level play, that has never been Jackson, not even in his one good season.

Ok he sucked for two seasons or at least until Butch Barry got to Miami. But he worked hard to improve and it paid off. You also have to remember he gave bone marrow to save his sisters life, that he's openly spoke about having affected his play and emotions early on.

I get where your coming from. You don't think he's much. But when I go back to 2023 a watch him play, he looks like a top 10 RT. A player you can win with.

Unfortunately his injury history has held him back. While I think he's replaceable, I'm not going to ignore the good things he's capable of doing on the field. He's been good when healthy.

A curveball could be the 49ers taking Sanders at 11, then trading Purdy.

If I was them thats what I would do.

Upgrade and stay cheap at QB.

The unjustified Brock Purdy hate is unreal. Is it because of his draft capital? Had Purdy been picked in the 1st round would he then be seen as more of a franchise guy? Someone needs to explain to me how Purdy is less than guys like Herbert, Murray, Dak, Trevor Lawrence, Tua, mayfield, Darnold, Geno, Goff. All those guys have got paid big money, good QBs get paid in the NFL. And Purdy has done more than the majority of other QBs on that list, and with less starts!

Ohh well I have to say I'm far more worried about Paul's level of play than Jackson's, I'm worried about Jacksons health but also think he's pretty average, a plus Run blocker and a minus Pass blocker.

I hope Paul just had a rough rookie year but if there is a guy that projects to be a great Tackle available like Simmons, I'm not gonna hesitate to draft him bc we "might" get a healthy and in shape Jackson or "might" not have a bust in Paul.
