NFL DRAFT & RUMORS MEGATHREAD

I agree. Chop has an abundance of talent but in the end his shortcomings against the run is the main reason why Mitchell is the better player. Mitchell is a more well rounded talent.
Folks question Chop's run defense and say he is one-dimensional. Does Mitchell play run defense as well as he covers?

When Healthy, Austin Jackson is a top 10 Right Tackle.
IMO, as a run blocker in our scheme, he is, but as a pass blocker, he is more middling. Tua's lightning-quick processing and release help Ajax in pass blocking quite a bit.

One aspect of why Barron makes sense at 13 is because so many of the top corners have injury concerns. Johnson, Morrison, and Ravel. Taking Barron and his good health and 57 games played at Texas ensures you are getting a secondary defender who is as likely as it gets to step in and give you 1k quality snaps as a rookie. Barron=Trent McDuffie. The only guy who'd allay my fears of passing on beef in round one.

I'm not as anti-Baron as I am anti-Warren, but I still have my doubts if he is a shutdown boundary corner. Do you think that he is?

Hilarious how I live rent free in some of these guys heads. They can't even see my posts and yet they talk about me on a daily basis. 🤣

11 tackles in 394 running snaps lol yeah he was on the field more, didn’t do much. Not to mention I believe chop is better at his craft which is pass rushing that Mitchell is at his and that’s while Mitchell gets help from maybe the best dline in football. Chop had minimal around him. Sieler and Campbell were good but if Phillips and Chubb can return to form, chop will see even less double teams and chips. Even with minimal help he was top 5 in win % and pressure rate. He also improved with more reps so it not like he put up a small sample size. The more reps he got the more often he got home with a sack and his pressure rate stayed near an elite level.

This is a draft thread, enough of the Chop propaganda.

@j-off-her-doll @dolfan91 would you guys say this is the worst draft so far of the 2020s?

I think this might be the worst draft we will see this decade.

Qbs - absolutely stink

Rbs - very good

Wrs - only a handful of decent ones

Tes - very good

Oline - very few Tackles

Edge - probably average

DTs - above average

Lbs - very few

Corners- very bad

Safties - average

I think this draft sucks.

Why you worried about a Backup player?

So we have more money to improve the rest of the roster?

If we draft a qb that can backup Tua instead of having to spend 6-8 million of cap space on the Zach Wilson’s and Teddy Bridgewaters of the world, then we will have a cost controlled asset for 4 years that, depending on where we draft them, would cost us the same for 4 years that we are paying for just one season of a veteran backup qb. All about salary cap usage and maximizing our dollars to offset some of the idiotic extensions weve handed out.

We also have to draft someone to replace Tua, he just needs too many things to be good around him and I have no faith in this FO in drafting the right pieces around him and I have no faith in Ross finding the correct people to turn us around. Hopefully one day I’ll be proven wrong.

Calling me a clown is a personal attack. Don’t act like that wasn’t on purpose. That’s not my username. And that’s twice now. I like reading your posts so I know what we shouldn’t do on draft day. You waste your breath with every post you make so why would a reply to mine be any different.

You can say whatever you want about hoops posting style, but to claim he doesn’t know what he’s talking about when it comes to the draft is just bonkers. I’ve been lurking on this board for a long time and hoops is one of the top 3 posters when it comes to knowing what he’s talking about in prospects and evaluations etc.

If you think he’s arrogant or don’t like how he types that’s fine ignore him, but to say he doesn’t know what he’s talking about is asinine.
