At its core, this is a group of white men telling a group of black men that they can't use a variation of a slur that white men used to dehumanize black men and women.
Seriously, how does a white man (with a straight face) say to a black man, 'Um, excuse me, but you can't use the N-word'? If this comes to pass, they'll likely make Merton Hanks make the announcement.
I think this would extend to all racial and derogatory terms. In fact, it will extend to any foul language since it can all be considered dehumanizing.
I'm sure the NFL won't think "OK no N words, but LB's can the the QB they are going to F his mother."
This is all political moves by the NFL to look pro-active for a solution and avoid any lawsuits that may arise from other NFL players saying the league did not take steps to guarantee a safe and healthy (mental) work enviroment.
I can see it now, class action lawsuit by former NFL players saying they can't sleep at night because all they hear is coaches yelling and cursing at them.
