NFL Live panel rips Philbin

Often when I used to watch BSPN, I've heard some of their so-called "panelists" actually say something to the effect that "I don't necessarily agree with this but this is the position the producers want me to take." So when I hear these talking heads bloviating my own instinct is it's more likely they've been instructed to do so by that particular show's producers in lockstep with the ediitorial policy of the network. I better not get into what that editorial position encompasses or the regurgitated content that gets puked out expressly to pander to a specific demographic market or two coveted by their advertisers.

Now to say this network and its shaky moral ground is both disingenuous and dishonest would be an understatement. When you have former junkies like Cris Carter who was actually kicked off his team because he preferred drugs to his teammates, news manipulators and fabricators like Tom Jackson (who on the basis of a false negative report he did, still has Belicheat refusing to talk to him), team cancers like MeShawn who Gruden paid but kicked off TB as being a cancer, and of course Ray Lewis, who took a plea bargain that involved admitting complicity and a year's probation for trying to conceal information about his homies in 2 murders, then how much moral ground can you really claim to sit in judgment of others without being the ultimate hypocrite?

When as a network you yourself has hired and then quietly dismissed with no fanfare sexual predators like Sean Salisbury, Harold Reynolds, Eric Kussilias and Steve Phillips among others who used their positions of power to sexually exploit and harass young underlings, and then of course outright racists like Hugh Douglas who called Stephen A an "Uncle Tom" for not towing the racial line on a side-taking issue, mysogenists like Ron Franlyn during a Fiesta Bowl callilng a female colleague on air "sweet baby" and then when she complained "asshole," Rob Parker calling RG3 a "cornball brother" for his Caucasion wife..(first he was suspended but the pressure made them fire him ...are you picking up on the vibes here yet?), Jay Marriotti who beat his wife, and so on.

So before you take to heart any of this criticism consider that it's likely these are organ grinder monkeys dancing to their bosses' music and that their bosses are in no position to sit in moral judgment of anyone while their own house has been so dirty for so long.

(incidentally you can check out my sig but while I'm typing this, Willbon who has jumped right on Incog, ignored Barkley's DUI and adultery, called Coach Chaney who attacked Coach Calipari and threatened to kill him an iconic coach, great guy and joker, has just cautioned Kornheiser NOT to jump to conclusions about Ray Rice using the word "alleged" several times)

doesnt take a genius to figure out philbin is an awful head coach. i have nothing personal against the man but i really wonder why he was hired in the first place. its almost too easy for the media to rip this guy to shreds, hes that much of a joke.

Ross hired Philbin from what we are lead to believe, Ross is the same guy that kept Ireland around too long. So it shows incompetence begins at the top. He needs to hire a Football Guy. Needed to clean house and start over with New HC and GM but we have a 2 Year GM and HC on shaky ground let's see I think I have seen this movie before and I don't believe there to be an alternate ending.

I feel this season is NFL purgatory for Dolphins fans. I got to get drilled all season before real changes can occur....for the ship to be righted.

I don't like those idiot hypocrites. But ... yeah, Philbin is incompetent. I've been using the the term coaching vacuum since the Tampa game. I think there's plenty of evidence to support this.

I'm willing to give Joe one more year but i agree that the TB game along with the two vs Buffalo and the final vs the Jets the team was flat as hell and Joe's to blame. His team seemed to play up to the better teams and down to the bad ones.
With the GM , OC , OL and QB coaches gone he certainly has to step up or say goodbye.

Bro do you think there that was enough of a cleanup of the coaching staff? Like QB and RB coaches?

Jeff Darlington brings it…

So Philbin recognizes he needs to have a better pulse, but unlike Kevin O’Neill, he will get a second chance to overcome mistakes he made.

So O’Neill gets fired for letting harassment take place, but Philbin says he didn’t “name (Incognito) a leader.” He just… let it happen.

Miami blames GM + asst GM for roster, OC for offense, trainer + asst coach for oversight, Incognito for harassment, players for leadership.

All great points.

No John I never cared for the QB ( son in law with no experience) coach.I think Joe and Sherman brought in their guys they were comfortable with instead of seasoned veteran coaches. The only one I really like is the TE coach Campbell. That dude could suit up today and probably play better than Egnew.

Like in business if you surround yourself with yes men and friends it hardly ever works out and in the end you end up having to fire them. This is one lesson i personally learned the hard way bro.

When we were 8-6, all of these guys were praising how well Philbin has kept his team focused through this mess. None of it holds any weight with me.

We had some here saying he could be a Coach of the Year candidate. Funny how that changes so quickly.

Joe is bad folks.

Hayden, You can say that again Dude! You don't fire the GM, the OC, the OLine Coach, and keep the Head Coach who was "unaware" of the Scandal. Ross is bad too. Obviously and Owner with any sack would have kicked this average coach to the curb.
