Nfl Sunday Ticket Super Fan

Sunday Ticket is a F-ing shame. They charge waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much money for what you get. I understand the fact that it is nice to watch the game at home but it is still a rip off. I mean for the money you spend per week you could go to a local sports bar and drink and eat damn near
I disagree. I can't sit at a bar with my 10 year old son and watch the Fins. I can't pause the live game while I get some food at the bar. My cat can't lay on my chest and sleep while I watch the game at the bar. So I will enjoy my NFL Sunday ticket. Just got my DirectTV on Friday

I'm not sure if this was posted yet, I'm pretty sure it has.

Directv had a special, they still may, where when you sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket, you get free programming for 4 months. It was their best package. So you are basically getting NFL Sunday Ticket for free. Your paying like $60 for the first 4 months till it is payed off, and then you can go back to the regular chanels. Not a bad deal.
Yep, that's the deal I got when mine was installed Friday

That's the deal I got about a year ago when I signed up for DTV. But to my knowledge, that deal is for new subscribers only.

Yep, and the deal I got 2 weeks ago. :D

But...

just got the annual call earlier today...

from the sportsbar clan I haven't seen, nor heard from, since last season...

That their all getting together Sunday at the newly remodeled sportsbar..

now farther outa town...

Didn't have the heart to tell em I got the Sunday Ticket...

And dont have the picnic bench style decor, one needs, to entertain such

a hardcore drinking crew over the house...

So.

Said I'll be there 10:00 sharp...

I disagree with you. If I spend a whole day at a sports bar watching football games, eating, and drinking (which I've done a lot in the past). It will be anywhere from $30-60 every Sunday. I spent $200 to renew my order for Sunday ticket to watch the Fins and any other game I want in the comfort of my own home. I have a few friends come over, and they pitch in for beer and food. Plus, I have TiVo; so I get a 3 minute highlight from every game played on Sunday downloaded to my DVR every Monday morning.

$200 Sunday Ticket or $30-60 a week for 17 weeks (not including the playoffs). Hmmmm, you do the math on that. If you break down the price of Sunday Ticket over $17 weeks, it comes to $11.76 a week to watch all NFL games. So how is that a rip off, in comparison to what you spend at a sports bar?

Yeah, I love pausing, rewinding and slow mo on certain plays. If one of my friends come over to watch his team play my team, and someone on his team is the recipient of a vicious hit from someone on my team. I like to rewind it and play in slow motion over and over again so he can keep seeing it  .

I got my HD Tivo installed yesterday for that $299 w $100 mail in rebate deal. The reciever and the functions arn't as nice as my RCA HD one, but I can't believe I went the whole season last year without Tivo, it is amazing!

Also, my guide loads really slow. Does anyone else have that problem? Does it get better?

yeah i go to a bar now, its kinda nice to go, me and my girl were in a routine last year and we met some people there, get some drinks and some food, etc etc, but it gets pricey and if im not there early enough you get a bad seat and cant see the tv all that well, but if i COULD id get sunday ticket, but for now the bar works...

i have sunday ticket and i still go to the bar..my brother is a huge bronco fan so he watches it at home and i get it in my room as well because we have two recievers..so we split the package 50/50 and when i get home from the bar around 4: 30 i watch the games on the west coast and look at my fantasy players at 4..nothing beats that.. non stop action till 11 30 at nite and the best thing is i don't have work on mondays:cool: i spend about 20 bucks at a bar..don't really drink that much but a occasional beer is fine

You have lost your mind. I would sacrifice a small animal for the opportunity to get Sunday Ticket. Do you drink iced tea and eat 10 cent wings? Maybe it is because I live near DC.

Call me nuts, but I'd pay twice what they offer Sunday ticket for. Nothing like having all the games in HD on a 55'' TV with digital sound. Instead, I get to go to the bar and sit in the corner where the Dolphins game won't be featured anyway. ACK!

I disagree, and I'm sure half the people on this board will agree with me, but the amount I'd spend at a local bar would greatly exceed the amount for the Sunday ticket. Maybe that has something to do with living in LA though...
I live in DC and the prices are pretty high. But i can manage to go to the bar and spend like 30 dollars. With the ticket I spend like 20 for just the football and then still have to go buy beer and food.

that is the problem with the HD Tivos, they aren't supported by D* anymore so you will not get the software update. It is a little faster if you change it to the Tivo style guide instead of the grid, but other then that it is something we have to deal with. Trust me, it is worth the slow guide to have it ;)

I live in DC too but I mean for 20 dollars a game with no food or beer seems like a waste to me. Buy the way if you know where there are 10 cent wings in the area let me know. Just playing No but for real.

Ok, well it's annoying, but I am sure I will get used to it.

I got this through DirecTV just yesterday, and now they don't support them anymore? Huh.....oh well. The Tech said it should speed up, it just has a lot to download, and in like 12-24 hours it should be better.....I think he just want to leave though.
