Nice snippet about Rex Hadnot!

I have to agree. I dont think any one of our linemen can be fairly judged from last season. I believe that Damion McIntosh is one of the better tackles in the league

Wow, we're all entitled to our opinions, but wow.

I think there's generally too much optimism around here about what Hudson Houck can do as an OL coach. We gave him the impossible task of taking the exact same unit that was the worst OL in the league last year (no denying it, they were THE worst) with only ONE significant addition, that being Stockar McDougle (who has a rep for being lazy and taking plays off)...and he's got to turn that into a respectable unit.

The man doesn't walk on water. He doesn't turn water into wine and he sure as heck doesn't make chicken salad our of chicken ****. This OL, much like this season, is going to be a work in progress.

As for Damion McIntosh and Houck getting the most out of him? Keep in mind that Houck's OL in San Diego didn't make the monumental leap they did until AFTER guys like Kelvin Garmon and Damion McIntosh were gone. The only thing he got out of them was good run blocking, crappy pass protecting, and penalties. I think Damion is here for continuity in learning the OL techniques. They're really pushing Carey as the future until he falls on his face, then they'll probably put him at guard. Personally, I'm hoping he makes an ascension, and doesn't fall on his face.

I think Spielman got a raw deal in that he didn't really get much of a chance to be the GM of the team before he was removed. His performance very likely would have improved, and he made some nice choices later in last year's draft if you ask me.

His track record as the final decision maker speaks for itself. All of his moves were made in desperation. From getting baited into giving a 4th rounder to get Vernon Carey, to trading Ogunleye for Booker & a 3rd because David Boston went down, to trading that 3rd for Lamar Gordon who is no better than a backup RB in this league, to trading a 2nd for AJ Feeley who is also no better than a backup in this league.

He was a walking disaster. No dolphin he's ever been involved with drafting has made the pro bowl. Not all that many are starting for us either...

I don't know about that. Cleveland, New York Giants and Arizona were all right there as far as bad OL's go.

Yes, but having seen them all play, none had the consistent incompetancy that our line possessed. It was absolutely the most attrocious line play I have ever seen in my life at the professional level, and I am not exaggerating.

O-gun for Booker and a 3rd was a good deal for us.
Carey we have yet to see if he was a good pick up.
As of now Feeley for a 2nd was a bad deal. But we can only judge this year if it was worth it. We gave up a 2nd this year, so we wil be able to judge this year if he was worth a 2nd round pick.
3rd for Gordon was also a decent move. The problem is that he got hurt and we will never know now if it was a good move or not. It will only be looked at as a bad deal only because we drafted Ronnie and had the season we had.

Pope, Hadnot, Poole, Bua are just a few names that were excellent choices for Spielman.

Spielman didn't do a great job, however he didn't do an awful job either. All of his moves cannot be truly determined as good or bad until probably after this season. For all we know Carey could be a future Pro Bowl LT, Feeley could make the pro bowl.

The only one of Spielmans acquisitions that we will never get to see play for this team again is Lamr Gordon, every other one atleast has a chance to show what they have this year. Minus Edwards as well.
