No, dave, I'll tell you what the real "sin" is..

Yep. This is how far the franchise has fallen. It was mentioned before the 2002 and 2003 seasons that Wayne would never fire Dave. Now he has put Rick in a position to do his dirty work for him. It was said wayyy back then : What does it take. What EXACTLY is it going to take to show all of the fans that Dave is destroying this franchise. Just ask the fans in Chicago who are just now starting to rebound under Lovie Smith. Dave gutted that team and it took them YEARS to recover. Thanks Dave. Jerk.

10 wins is medicore?

:roflmao:

...and what is it about that you don't understand?? Maybe you should enroll in a football 100 course because there is nothing given to people who don't make the playoffs or win their division.
Nobody cares about teams that don't make the playoffs.
Teams that don't make the playoffs are MEDIOCORE!!
Understand now? :rolleyes2

i wanna know how many wins Wanny is really responsible for. our major people on staff were here from the shula/johnson era. what has Wanny done in his tenure?

I see it this way... how many wins is our offense responsible for winning the past 4 years. the truth is our defense has carried us. all the wanny/fiedler supporters can bash me all they want. im in search for the "truth" like ricky and i haven't found any in wanny nor fiedler. im glad we have a change in offense. finally we have someone in spielman that is looking to change up the offense. if it were wanny in charge of getting players for ogun we might have ended up with more defensive players. instead we get 2 offensive players, what a great move... im sad to see ogun move on but im also happy to see changes, changes that were mostly brought upon by rickys retirement but i think we have made major strides in signing big time people over the offseason and having a more potent offense than we have seen in years.

I think it's Dave's attitude about the offense that irks me more than anything. I understand his desire for AJ to protect the football and not turn it over, but his statement only emphasizes Dave's attitude of playing not to lose, rather than playing to win.

Mistakes happen in this league, but you don't want your QB to play scared. Basically, with Dave, we run a prevent offense. We prevent our players from scoring by not opening up the offense with AJ. Let the kid throw the ball. Let's aim for scoring more than 3 points a game. Quit being such a wuss.

The whopping 10 win theory, last year we beat 8 teams with 6 wins or less and went 2-5 against teams with a winning record...............Dave Wannstedt stated after the 2001 season "I feel we are closer than ever to the superbowl"...... Care to explain that one Dave? Was that distance you were talking about Dave? Since when did it become the goal of nfl teams to get 10 wins and thats it. Is that the accomplishment? I guess that thing called the playoffs and the Superbowl are overated anyways..... Great Job Dave !!!! You have this team right on track...... Here's to another 10 win season and the banner that goes with it.........

Nope.

Medicore is avg or below avg.

10 wins isn't avg. 10 wins is above avg.

I guess you would understand that If you would have graduated to Football 101 instead of pinning all your knowledge in football 100. Which everyone knows is preschool for mom's and girlfriends...

I totally agree.

It truly amazes me how Wannyism causes fans to lower their expectations and start to think mediocre play is the NEW standard we should all accept.
Maybe the city of Miami will start to have a parade in honor of our ten wins or even if we make it to the playoffs and get blown out by 50 points...hey, that is something to celebrate huh? :rolleyes2

By your mediocre standards...maybe not. :rolleyes2
But ten wins didn't = playoffs.
The goal is to win the division EVERY YEAR. Dave has failed. It is not about how many "wins"....it is about playoffs and winning the division.

So, 26 coaches should get fired each year? Great philosophy....

You wanna define an above average team as one who doesn't make the playoffs...go right ahead. So I guess the ones that do make it are what? Elite teams? Give me a break!
Bottom line is no playoffs gets ya nothing. No respect whatsoever.
That is why sportscasters look down on Miami every year because we look so average against ABOVE AVERAGE competition!!

Why ar your standards so low? The only team that wins is the team that wins the SB. There is a 31 team tie for last place every year.

A lot more factors weigh in on who should get fired. But if a coach goes 4 years without winning their division or advancing in the playoffs, I'd put him on the hot seat and fire him after the 5th if he doesn't show improvement.

Business is business...the only way to make money in football is to have excitement on the field and have your season last longer than 16 games.

There is not a 31 team tie for last place every year. Teams win divisions, AFC & NFC Championships. Lets not get out of hand here.
If there is a 31 team tie for last place, then why don't every one of those 31 teams have the #1 first round draft choice?

toronot fin fan is right

dave is a joke and the people here saying "he's avg 10 wins a year" shut the F up. shut your F ing yap. dave could win 10 games a year for 10 years with this talent but he will NEVER do anything more. that's the point. dave is like jay. he just can't get it done when it matters most.

i dont care how many games we win on average yearly..... i cant remember the last time we were in the playoffs. we play to win a super bowl so when you miss the playoffs its a losing season no matter how many wins you have. Dave sucks, i agree with you there TorontoFin.

I totally agree with what you're saying blue. But last year was the first time in like 10 years, I think, that a 10 win team didn't get into the playoffs. So, to say that they were below avg. is kinda debatable. I must agree that we have been the best of the mediocore teams...the top teams have been playing at a dufferent level.
