No, dave, I'll tell you what the real "sin" is..

I think it's Dave's attitude about the offense that irks me more than anything. I understand his desire for AJ to protect the football and not turn it over, but his statement only emphasizes Dave's attitude of playing not to lose, rather than playing to win.

Mistakes happen in this league, but you don't want your QB to play scared. Basically, with Dave, we run a prevent offense. We prevent our players from scoring by not opening up the offense with AJ. Let the kid throw the ball. Let's aim for scoring more than 3 points a game. Quit being such a wuss.
:beerbang:Every time I hear Wanny speak he sounds more ignorant each time!! I'm a very patient man, but when ever he makes excuses, it is always in the defense of "his" players. Thank God for Rick Spielman!! I'm glad he can judge talent when he sees it.
After the first half last week he said, " I don't think our problem was caused from one individual (jay)" .Then after the game he says he wants to rotate quarterbacks. (A compromise after other coaches advice) Is he blind, stubborn, ignorant or what?
All he has done since he has been here is protect "his" stars. He doesn't give half the team the opportunity to show what they can do, nor his own personel.
If AJ Feeley can't bring this team around, after other coaches have pleaded AJ to start, Dave's going to look pretty stupid. He really needs to start listening to other people, and believing that there are other people on offense that can do some really great things!!
PS Go Leonard Henry!!!

There is not a 31 team tie for last place every year. Teams win divisions, AFC & NFC Championships. Lets not get out of hand here.
If there is a 31 team tie for last place, then why don't every one of those 31 teams have the #1 first round draft choice?

why are you so ignorant? He simply means 31 teams dont win the super bowl... one team does. That ONE team is #1 and the others arent. 31 teams are tied with each other when it comes to not winning a super bowl. If your team doesnt win the super bowl your team has a losing season in essence you are in last place because no matter how many games you win, you didnt win the super bowl. So all of the teams that dont win the superbowl (31) are losers in the end.

Nice performance in the playoffs the last 4 years. :roflmao:

To whoever said quit giving credit to JJ for putting the D together look at this (I think I got it right but correct me if I'm wrong).

J. Taylor: drafted by JJ
Z. Thomas: drafted by JJ
P. Surtain: drafted by JJ
S. Madison: brought in by JJ
B. Marion: brought in by JJ
D. Gardener (he was pretty good): drafted by JJ

I might have one or two of these wrong and I also might have missed some people. Now, look at what Wanny has drafted for us:

E. Moore: superstar LB (LOL)
J. Seau: love him but definitely past his prime
A. Edwards: barely beat out Bell and Freeman for safety spot
S. Knight: decent player lacking speed

From what I can tell, JJ did a much better job than Wanny. Wanny did however, bring in Chambers which is awesome......too bad he never looked for a decent QB to throw the ball to him.

The real "sin" here is that wayne has let you sink this ship these last 4 years dave. After all your years as a head coach, after a decade of failures, you still can't see the error of your ways. Still think your 1 playoff win in 10 years is just bad luck, eh dave? Too many lobster traps that your players didn't see, right?
Not a sin to punt? technically Dave, you're right. Sometimes it's the best thing. BUT YOU DON"T MAKE IT A F---ING PHILOSOPHY; YOU DON'T MAKE IT PART OF THE F--ING GAMEPLAN!!!!!!! what NFL coach would publicily say such a thing and wear it like a badge of honour? Un-f--ing real!
Hey buddy: You need to score to win the game, get it? Miami score points. Miami score more points than Cinci. Miami Wins. Less punt = more points. More points = win. It's not that hard, Dave. It's easier than drawing up a play for a 3-WR set, so don't be scared, give it a try.

What a sad, sad excuse for a head coach. I have never lamented anything more in all my years as a fin fan then when this man was allowed to keep his job..again. watching Marino's last game is like Christman morning compared to watching and listening to Dave

And why are you such a stupid fool? I know what he means. Does that mean he is right? No.

I'm saying that the 31 teams who doesn't win the superbowl cannot be logically ranked all together because some of those teams actually do win divisions and AFC/NFC championships.
You rank them according to how they performed throughout the year. This is why you see power rankings azzwipe!!
This is why they base the drafts on team performance bonehead!!

yeah, I need a day off.

One other point about wannstedt's conservative philosophy... it may win some games but its BORING football.

Punters should be eliminated from the sport..

It doesnt matter what yall say the only thing we can all agree on is that Whining Wanny is a sorry coach and he needs to go after this season no matter what. I am tired of this conservative offense crap. Lets explode down the damn field. Besides if we throw a pick wouldnt it me better throw it farther down the field then 5 yards out from the line of scrimmage? Anyone agree

A lot more factors weigh in on who should get fired. But if a coach goes 4 years without winning their division or advancing in the playoffs, I'd put him on the hot seat and fire him after the 5th if he doesn't show improvement.

Business is business...the only way to make money in football is to have excitement on the field and have your season last longer than 16 games.

Wanny has won the division and made the playoffs.....

The real question is whether the coach has the team playing up to their abilities. I think 10-6 was a respectible record for THAT team last year.

All the Wanny bashers who point to 2 conscecutive playoff misses fail to point out that they were tied with teams that made the playoffs both years. They would have you believe that we were 0-16. You have to look at how far away you were. Otherwise, the coaching churn would destroy the franchise.

You want to set the standards high. The ultimate goal is the SB. Anything short is failure. If you want to take an extreme position, then go all the way.

Yet you try to logically rank all teams that miss the playoffs together. Why? That makes no more sense and THAT was the point of my post.....

Wannstedt stated, "It's not a sin on this team if we punt the football. I think that's difficult for a lot of people to understand. There's nothing wrong with punting the football and playing defense."

I state: with thinking like that, I KNOW why the Fins are in trouble. No, it's not a sin. But it certainly shouldn't be considered a blessing either!

That has to be the second most assinine thing he has ever said in the press.

I'm speaking on consistent improvement.

Tying teams that make the playoffs doesn't count in my book. You do what you have to do to get there. You know how important each game is, therefore, you bring your AAA game to the table come game time when your playoff outlook is hinging on a W for that week.
If you can't get it done, then there is without a doubt someone who can.

I missed the part where he said it was a blessing. Was it hidden? Was it a coded message? Did he say that only to a few people?

He told AJ to not force things that are not there. Just as every single coach has said to every single young QB since the invention of the forward pass.

You people kill me.
