Not to beat a dead horse, but tannehill again

Matt Moore is far from the answer. I like tannehill. I think he has flashes that are leaps and bounds above what we have had the past decade, however winos not I'm not going to ignore an ongoing problem. This issue can't be registered in stats. You have to watch the film. Completions are still made on adjustments by the wideouts. Doesn't make the fact the play should have been 6 any easier to swallow when it's a 35 yard completion instead and it's all on ball placement.

that slant on the TD to hartline was very misplaced

Seriously? Where did I say he is a bad qb? Actually read what I posted in the op. It says he has an issue with deep balls because HE DOES! I can think of three throws he missed today in the first half that should have been 6 if ball placement was there. It's not a single game issue. If I had game film I probably could show you 10-15 throws to wide open guys that were mis thrown on blown coverages that probably could have been 6. That's all I'm saying. Nothing more. But it's what he needs to improve because his short game is money.

Well youre being too critical. Youre expecting too much. No he isnt elite yet. But your post suggests youre done waiting to see if he does....

Ryan did miss a couple open deep throws but over all played a very good game mixing in a few strong scrambles.
The good news is our receivers are getting open deep. Eventually we'll hit a few but in the mean time I'll take over 300 yards passing and a couple TD's any day..

No they don't. It's what you are reading into. All I've said is that I don't feel accuracy is coachable but in usual finheaven fashion you can't knock a player especially after a win.

Tannehill was irritating at times today but the overwhelming feeling for me, more than almost any other game, is how much I hate the offensive play calling.

lol bs .the haters knock him for everything at all times

Too bad it was a 15 yard throw which he is money on. Not the scope of this thread. Try again.

so those don't count? deep passes are the only ones that matter...u know deep throws which are statistically low percentage plays to begin with...

You are killing me! I already said his short game was money! The thread was about 30+ yard throws and you post a comment about his short game. See what I'm saying?!

I love this, you all arguing with each other over the right to criticize a player. This is what a message board is for, to give opinions. I'm glad I wasn't here during the Henne days.

My take on this is that it was a good win, but the first half was an embarrassment. A rock-bottom, complete, and utter embarrassment. It was humiliating also, for Bill Cower and others at halftime to pause in their beatdown of Geno Smith, to add that Ryan Tannehill was also awful.

On the positive side, this is the second game in a row I've seen Tannehill handle the pocket better, and he made some beautiful throws. He also ran for a first down, which was critical. But that overthrow to Clay, I don't know what he was thinking.

I was at my Dad's house watching the game, and he asks at one point, why are the announcers discussing college games? I said, because the Dolphins and Jets are playing and it's 0-0.

I'm happy that Grimey got his INT, also...:)

And how does that compare to the rest of the young QBs in the league? I'm sure you have no idea. You are comparing him with an ideal that doesn't exist. Good luck with that.

I am not concerned about the rest of the league but only what Tannehill is doing. Why must every qb follow the same growth curve of the rest of the league? At the end of the day, you hit the open guy for the score. He isn't doing it. Does that mean he sucks? Never said that. Does that mean I've lost faith in him? Nope. Does that mean things can't be fixed? I'd say some things can be. Do I believe accuracy is coachable? Nope. Can he read defenses better and have better anticipation of the receiver separation and break? Probably.

People need to stop being so damn butthurt when someone brings up something about a player and stop ostracizing him/her as someone who hates the player. You can like the upside of a player and believe there is something there but also criticize the things they need to improve. It really is ok.

I love revisiting these old game day threads after the fact and reading through the piss poor evaluations made therein. OP has no clue. By the logic used in this thread, we're all still waiting for Marino, Manning and Brady to become elite. After all, none of them hit on 100% of their deep throws. I mean, damn! I watched Manning miss on at least 3 of them Sunday. And Brady, as already pointed out by Phinatic8u, is in the bottom half of the league. Maybe the OP can coach them up? Hold a summer camp in the off season?

BTW, when you spend most of the game in here bitching about minor issues instead of actually watching the game, it's evident to everyone why you lack football IQ.

That is all.

Again, why are we still talking about low percentage deep throws and not about how our OL can't get 6 feet on 2 rushing attempts? I mean the percentage has to be higher than 20-30% on those right?
