Nublar for Mod

I don't understand the hate on Nub by the admins. Nub has never gotten in any trouble, he's a nice guy and he always informs us with the latest news. He doesn't get credit when credit is due. Saying that he isn't comitted to this site is a bunch of BS. I just don't think that Nub is getting treated fairly around here. Everybody wants him as a mod, but yet some admins don't want him around the FH staff period.

There are other reasons Im sure of

I'm sorry that our decision has failed to please you yet again.... you'll have to forgive us for that.

As for hating Nubs.... I don't think anyone said that. I think I can speak for the entire staff when I say that none of us hate Nublar. He's a good guy, does a lot for the site, and hasn't ever really been a problem.

I also wouldn't expect Nublar to step down from his other mod position. I'm sure he gives his full commitment to that site, and I would expect no less from a guy like Nublar. In fact, I would be dissapointed if he were to take a position with the intent of jumping ship at the first sign of a "better" offer.

And none of this means that Nublar likes our site any less... that's certainly not what we're implying. We have a great many people who contribute tremendously to the site in many different ways such as writing articles, providing draft coverage, salary cap wizardry... and many, many other such things. None of them are staff members, and I don't think that really shows disrespect to them.

Really, I thought it was a non-issue. Nublar got to be a staff member elsewhere and still contributes to the site. Where do you figure we have "not treated him fairly"?

Thanks 3p for replying. And I don't have to agree with anything that goes on around here. Nobody agrees 100 percent all the time, so I don't know what's the deal with that "sorry to not please you again" thing.

By saying not treated fairly, I mean by he isn't getting what he deserved. We started the samething with FFIC and we really wanted him to become a mod and now he is. Nub has been a guy who you could relay on with news and he never starts an argument with anybody. He is a perfect mod IMO and with him saying that he spends almost 5 hours is pretty damn good. I'm sorry to see that we won't know the whole story behind all of us because like I said before, Nub is what everybody needs to a site.

Now I'm starting to sound like an agent.

And we have relied on Nublar for the news, he's done a great job. Everyone has a niche here, and for Nublar so far, it's been news and highlights. If we feel that we need to expand his responsibilities, then we will handle it accordingly.

Also, before you criticize the staff(like you did in the other post by saying that we "hate nublar"), at least know what you are talking about before doing so.

I didn't mean to cause an argument TT. I just think it's time for Nub to get his promotion with all he has done for the site.

Nothing specifically meant by the first comment... just that you seem to be a frequent critic of our staff choices. :chuckle:

As for "the rest of the story".... I hate to dissapoint you, but I have to tell you that there is no rest of the story.

I'm happy for Nublar that he was sought out for a staff position elsewhere... he's a very deserving person, and I'm sure he brings quite a bit to their staff. I really wouldn't want him to step down there, because I don't think Nublar is the sort of person who would make a commitment with the idea of leaving at the first chance to "upgrade". If I'm wrong about that, then I must say I would be dissapointed, and it would raise questions in my mind about the reliability of his word. I can tell you though, that it isn't the case as you can clearly see Nublar has proven me correct in my thinking by declining to step down.

I'd also like to point out that this isn't just some rule that we've made up to spite Nublar. Hopefully he doesn't mind me saying so... but Clumpy has been a name tossed about now and again as a possible mod. He's shown a huge commitment to the site both financially, and by offering his expertise with the cap. He'd also be a great disenting opinion, given that he's a fan of another team. Sadly though, he's a staff member elsewhere... and we've always decided that it was in everybody's best interest not to cause a situation where there might be conflicting interest.

That doesn't mean that we appreciate Clumpy's work any less... just as it doesn't mean we appreciate Nublar any less. It's just a situation we want to avoid.

Not true man. I did like the last two new mods. So it's not everytime.

But on a serious note. I understand your point of view and I don't want to keep arguing because it will go no where. Thanks for clearing that up with me 3p.

Ace.. you have to realize something. Our decision to promote FFIC really had nothing to do with what the members wanted. It had everything to do with what the staff wanted. If this was a "popularity contest" then The Mor would be an Admin  We don't base our staffing decisions on what the members want, any more than the CEO of a corporation makes staffing decisions based on what the workers want. Do you think Donald Trump takes a poll of his casino workers to decide who his next executive is?
Seriously. Getting passed over as a mod does not mean we don't like someone, it simply means there was someone else we felt was qualified. There is nothing personal about it.

My 2 cents is that Nubs and all he has done the last 2 years since I have been on board has done more than enough to become a MOD rule or no rule

Nubs, even though you are on that other site you better not stop slacking on your responsibilities here or else the hex will be on Penn State:tongue:

:chuckle: Way to cheapshot The Mor.

..and if I do say so myself, the logic presented by you guys in this thread has been very sound. It certainly makes me a lot more comfortable to know the mods on this website are not just guys chosen out of common perception, but those who have this site in their best interests.

P.S. Nub...another site...wtf??

Hey, Nub is very much appreciated at Phinzmania, don't be taking shots at him, he's a good guy, who works really hard to help out the site, as he does here also.

I agree, he doesn't deserve any grief. I don't think anybody should think any worse of Nublar7 for being on staff at another site. After all, we're all Dolphins fans. :D
