Well, he sort of was. But Marcus Allen was a "backup" to Bo Jackson for about 4 years with the Raiders. I don't see anyone disparaging HIS talents...

I think he has an attitude that will be more beneficial toward his long term success, while Cedric has the kind of attitude where you'll see a rain cloud hanging over his head wherever he goes. Never his fault, always circumstances, he'll tell you...

ckparrothead said:We don't have to deny reality just because we like Ronnie Brown. He was Cadillac Williams' backup. Yes, they shared the load a lot, but Caddy was 1 to Ronnie's 1A.
Who cares though? Priest Holmes was Ricky Williams' backup, and he's had a more fruitful career than Ricky has so far. Heck, Priest was also Jamal Lewis' backup with the Ravens in 2000. I personally think Priest has been a better pro than both players. I think Barry Sanders may have been Thurman Thomas' backup at Oklahoma State in 1987...or maybe it was the other way around. Whatever. You show me a guy that says that Ronnie can't be an excellent pro running back just because he was a "backup" in college and I will show you a blithering idiot.
